• President Obama today will impose even steeper cuts on greenhouse gas emissions from U.S. power plants than previously expected, senior administration officials said Sunday, in what the president called the most significant step the U.S. has ever taken to fight global warming.

• Hillary Clinton’s first television ads will hit the airwaves this week, presenting the Democratic candidate for president as a lifelong fighter for children and families. The 60-second spots will run in Iowa and New Hampshire for five weeks starting tomorrow.

• Vice President Joe Biden is still thinking about whether he will run for president and challenge Hillary Clinton for the Democratic nomination, according to people familiar with his thinking. He’s expected to finalize his decision by September.
