  1. Good morning.

    Good news!

The Stephanie Miller Show now has its own Wiki website!

    http://www.stephipedia.com

Check it out, and feel free to assist in adding to it, and/or cleaning it up, if necessary.

Back to the lab to work on my next montage of “crunchy audio goodness…”

  2. Good morning all

An extra large dose of dunkin’ this morning to make up for little or no sleep last night. The two cats decided that chasing each other on the floor and up and down the stairs wasn’t enough. It has now escalated to running across the window sills and any assorted furniture in their path, also knocking down any objects on said furniture. Probably wouldn’t be so bad if one of these beasts didn’t weigh 20 pounds. Of course they carry out these hijinks at night. I’ll probably come home from work this afternoon and find them sleeping together on the bed.

Been trying to set up the PC so my wife can download YouTube videos to her media player, since it’s now set up to play them through our Xbox. Of course the player can’t handle YouTube video, the PC has to transcode it. I succeeded in getting a couple of videos transferred, so she was sorta happy but when I tried to sit down yesterday and enjoy some of the latest Stephanie videos on the Xbox – “the computer said no”. Bah.

Rather disconcerting when a newsreader on a local 50kW blowtorch station that’s been around since the 20’s and can be heard in 38 states (not the newsreader, the station) doesn’t even know enough about what’s going on in the world to know how to pronounce Hamas correctly.
I’ve always heard it as Ham-AS, not HAM-as. Oh yeah, it’s the weekend crew, such mangling of names and such is the rule, not the exception. A person who knew what they were talking about would cost too much.

  3. Great work on the wiki, DJ.

And as I did with Shane-O, I bow and tip my cap to you for your “crunchy audio goodness”.

  4. My nights are similar with two feline siblings….as well with the cute sleeping and snuggling all day.

Love the Wiki sight. More great talent among Steph’s family!

Yes, an elite and bitter weekend. Seriously, I think the net result of this current bruhaha will be more votes for Barack, because it gets people’s attention and when they get a load of Barack, they like what they hear. Again, his response is right on.

  5. So Obama is the one tagged with the elite label, all the while that Little Miss Inevitable chartered a private plane to avoid rubbing shoulders with the media (at least until she ran out of money). Her husband earned a cool $800,000 in future bribe money from pro-Colombian trade pacts lobbyists, half of which she can use for her campaign. Instead of firing Mark Penn for double dipping with Colombia, she merely changes his title. And all the while, she attacks Obama for no being strong enough on trade issues. Worst of all, Howard Wolfson also takes Colombian trade money, leaving Hillary as the only individual in her entire campaign that seems to have missed out on free money.

But she is against the trade agreement. Honestly. Trust her. Really. This is no fish or Nafta story.

Between her Bosnian sniper attacks, her lies about Obama and the Canadians on NAFTA, her pretending that her staff did NOT spread lies about Obama being a Muslim, then attacking his christian preacher, Hillary has shown just how low she will go. Finally, I can understand why Mark Penn is dining with Karen Hughes (Bush’s former right hand man), why Bill respects Karl Rove as a political genius, and why Hillary’s acquaintance with truth and veracity is not just passing, but she crosses the street against the lights, just to avoid running into it again.

$109,000,000 since 2000. That is the Clintons’ income. Not including unreported large sums from Qatar and other middle east sources. (of course, mentioning these will make Obama anti-semitic, somehow). And what of his library funding, exceeding $150,000,000 from FOREIGN sources? It sure looks like his friendship with papa Bush certainly has paid off. On edit, I was reminded of two things, the free health care that their entire family gets, partly from her senate job, partly from his presidential pension. However, that would net them only approximately $3.5 million AFTER taxes for that same time period. And never forget for at least one entire year, Bill was earning nothing extra because of his emergency heart surgery.

Obama recently paid back is school loans. Hillary turned $1000 into a magical $100,000. Obama worked the streets in poverty and crime ridden areas of Chicago, seeing first hand the hopeless and the damage they have suffered. Hillary’s family had a summer cottage where she spent her summers. Instead of a Wall street firm (easy to do for a Harvard Law Review editor) Obama worked for a small local firm. With her husband as governor, Hillary worked for the Rose Firm, the biggest corporate firm in that region. Obama donated his time, Hilalry sat on the Walmart Board of Directors, making anti-union and anti-worker decisions. Obama writes books, Hillary hires others to write them for her.

It just begs the question: JUST WHO THE HELL IS ELITE HERE, DEAD-EYE HILL?

  6. Morning Stephinistas !

Have any of you ever sent anything to Stephanie? I sent her some of my Obama Jewelry and am wondering if I’ll hear from her about getting it? am I being naive?

  7. #7, Thanks for the Tom Tomorrow link–funny!

Re: Barack and bitter, my gut response was, Listen, Senator Obama, don’t apologize, stand by your remark, which does have validity for a certain segment of the population. You don’t have to like or agree with everybody; you can disparage someone’s mindset while still being compassionate. You’re obviously not making a sweeping generalization about everyone, so don’t let them box you in. Next thing they’ll say you windsurfed over to get a $400 haircut (gasp).

Obama’s strength has been standing firm (not crazy stubborn) while calling out the sniper-like subtext (race, elitism, assorted hippie hangover fears) of criticisms leveled against him, exposing it for what it is before dismissing it bemusedly (okay, I’m switching pronouns here, but it’s stupid o’clock on a Monday morning). So, I say, own it. That will earn more respect than backpedalling frantically to avoid offending anyone. Some people ought to be offended.

  8. I have to say “kudos” to the Clinton campaign. They took an Obama comment that was similar in tone to that uttered by Presidential candidate Bill Clinton (“The reason (George H. W. Bush’s tactic) works so well now is that you have all these economically insecure white people who are scared to death,” Clinton was quoted saying by the Los Angeles Times in September 1991.) and turned it into a charge of elitism.

I can just hear Karl Rove uttering to Hillary, “I can see the apprentice has become the master”.

  9. Good Morning!

  10. Good morning

I too was shocked we the press didn’t rightfully blame the Clintons for the stupid remarks by Obama.

I predict Steph will say something like:

    Oh they’re true or
Hillary said something as bad or worse
    or my favorite..
They were taken out of context.

  11. Morning Mooks and Mookettes! Like the Stephipedia. What is Hill’s problem? Now she’s on the San Franscisco liberal elite right-wing schtick.

  12. Wow, 22 or more messages before she is even on-line yet. Wow, you guys are such busy beavers.

    Heh heh, I said Beaver.

  13. dude! I saw Jesus camp last night. TERRIFYNG DOCUMENTARY. These evangelicals brain washng their kids to pray for bush. Yikes

  14. Awww, sorry to hear that the writer of the “Chicken Dance” has died. How many times have I heard that at wedding receptions? (too many, actually)

  15. Steph,

You and Obama are so right. If small town Americans weren’t so bitter, there would be no religion or second amendment.

Yes time to move back to the Clintons….Wow how sad of this Obama commercial!

  16. Don’t you remember Jim’s Kim Jong Il bit: Fruffy totaritalianism! You gonna hafta ply my cynicism flom my cord, dead hands! Kim out!

  17. Oh yeah…

Race has nothing to do with the fact 90+% of black people support Obama…

    Please stop being naive…

Ofcourse race has something to do with it…

  18. I remember seeing black people turning out in droves to vote for Monica Moorehead in 2000.

    Gibson is a lunatic.

  19. Black citizens represent about 12% of the population/electorate – if the “black” thing has so much to do with BHO’s popularity where are all the other votres coming from?

  20. Hey DRII

Did the millions of white people who voted for Obama vote for him because he’s half white?

The only thing historically worse than being black in this country is being half-back
half-white. No less than Thomas Jefferson called race-mixing “a degradation to which no lover of his country, no lover of excellence in the human character, can innocently consent.”

  21. #51, well apparently ol’Tom Jefferson, lover of Sally Hemmings, very un-innocently consented, and fathered an entire “illegitimate” family with her.

All of the racial stuff, overt and implied, and Obama’s lifelong rising above same, is what has earned my respect for the guy.

  22. Oh I see we must have extented Hillary bashing on the day after Obama sticks his foot in his mouth.

    What a bunch of BS!

  23. i ACTUALLY kind of like her laugh. I am one of the few people who thinks she would be cool to split a bottle of wine with. I really do. But I think Obama is a smarter and less… politician like. WHich is what I want in a president.

  24. Bryan in Miami…

race is certainly a factor when it comes to black people supporting him with 90+% of the vote…

I know this for certain…I experience it in my own family…

To ignore this is simply unrealilistic (sic)

  25. Why such binary consideration?

People are not so simply divided into pro versus anti HRC.

There are people like myself that have never liked her – that doesn’t make me anti-Hillary.

The binary thinking is very limited in both understanding and open discussion.

As if real peopole can’t have a preference without being anti-______?

How liberating it must be to divorce ones self from having to think beyond the binary.

Nuance is hard but requires some thinking.

    Think about it.

  26. All I know is that I myself am very bitter…

And I have a hard time considering a person who was raised in a single parent household elitist. I understood what Obama said, why doesn’t Hillary? *le Sigh*

  27. Race is a factor but it’s by no means the overriding factor in his success in this race. You don’t lead the nomination race by almost a million votes, set records in fund raising mainly on the strength of small donors, and attract voters from the other party by just appealing to black voters.

  28. THEY were elitist. BUT TRUE!!! I mean the man is totally on target, its a sociologically proven fact. But truth s not always popular

  29. what a great name for a band!

Well, another 8 days at least of regular Hillary Hate on Stephanie’s blog, especially after the Obama Snobbery in SF.

I wish Obama would stop being an elitist since it only leads to a 3-fold increase in Hillary Bashing.
    ————————————————————

You Hillary supporters need to pathetic whining about Hillary Bashing.

When Hillary goes after Obama, even fraudulently, you say she’s tough (NEWSFLASH: Big mouth doesn’t make you tough). When people respond her statements you whine about Hillary Bashing.

  30. Meg in Asheville…

“But I think Obama is a smarter and less… politician like”

So to prove he is less politician like, you have to look at what a good politician he is…

    I don’t get it…

The main reason most Obama supporters support him is beacause he has run such a good campaign…

running a campaign is the essence of a politician…

Then to say he runs a good campaign you have to ignore gaffes like the condesending ‘bitter comment’ and Rev Wright and Michelle’s comments…

All of which is ample fotter for the republicans to run their smear campaign…and almost make it legitimate…

Again if Obama had a longer record then Americans would know him better, and it would be harder for the attacks to stick…

  31. Wow, How great of him to say he MIGHT have used the wrong words.

Stephanie you don’t get it! You’re in love!

It’s not a river in Egypt!

  32. Why does the media let them get away with calling it a war? It was an invasion followed by an occupation.

It’s okay, I still like you Chris.

  33. Good morning Mooks and Momma. Good morning live blog.

OK, so I’m kind of disappointed in Momma and Chris this morning. I’ve read Obama’s comments in context. I see pretty much NOTHING wrong with what he said. It is exactly the “God, Guns and Gays” idea that has been brought up by pretty much everybody who isn’t a republican. Elsewhere I’ve seen some criticize his use of the word “cling”. So NOW they’re basing all their wrath and fury on the specific VERB that he used? Absolutely ridiculous.

  34. CHris is so great. He is always trying to keep the crazies in check. He makes me swoony

  35. I LOVED the bitter remark. Finally, a politician that talks to us like adults. Of course people are bitter. Of course people turn to other things for comfort when their government lets them down. Finally a politician that doesn’t talk down to us.

The one talking down to us is Hillary. To call Obama’s question somehow elitist is to, once again, assume we’re all stupid.

  36. Hi all,

Obama is a professor. His frank comments about bitterness were very professorial however, not everyone gets what college is like. It was almost as if he had slipped back into professor mode. But ya can’t be a frank professor and be a politician at the same time.

  37. DRII, Reverend Wright hasn’t said anything that hasn’t been said by Martin Luther King. It’s just that since the Reagan era firebrands like MLK have been sanitized so as to make criticism of our country an unpatriotic act.

And frankly, on the experience issue, the most experienced presidents have historically among the worst; just ask James Buchanan and Andrew Johnson.

What Obama said about Abstinence programs was that he was in favor of any program that would help lower AIDS prevalence in Africa, so long as faith-based groups are there to fulfill their specific objectives and not to evangelize.

  38. Question: You folks who had no problem with the “bitter” remark — did you think it applied to you? Or just to “those other people”?

I took the remark to heart, as the working class is my peeps, and I did not like it. Yes, it did sound elitist and out of touch to me.

My never-humble opinion, of course. YMMV.

    ^_^

  39. #77—I thought there was a lot of truth in what he said, a lot of sociology, but the Right jumped all over it so now it’s an issue. And Dems have to watch out for that. Some people HATE smart people and the Right made Kerry’s brains an issue, they make Gore’s brains an issue, and so it goes. It is the Republican playbook.

  40. I dunno, for some reason I EXPECT a “Senator” to be elitist. Maybe that’s why so few become President.

  41. #90 –oh heck, I’m bitter! I’ll admit it! It cost $49.00 and change to fill up my tank yesterday, the gas attendant and I talked about what a racket the oil companies have going, and he wished me a good day.

We’re being raped by Bush. Collectively raped. That’s something to feel bitter about.

    And I’m still cold!

  45. “Question: You folks who had no problem with the “bitter” remark — did you think it applied to you? Or just to “those other people”?”

I do feel that it applies to me. I also feel that it applies to the Cuban Catholic/Christian population in South Florida that hates Bush policies but keep voting for George AND Jeb because they touch the right single issue notes; abortion, Castro, gays, etc.

  47. I don’t think people go to church because they’re bitter, I think they go to church because they’re crazy.

    Out of context….yes I’m glad it’s here!

  48. To correct the caller who commented on the Compassion Forum, Barack made it clear that any approach to combat HIV/AIDS and abortion should include birth control and contraception as well as abstinence.

  49. Mike

Whoever thought an 8PM game at Fenway in April is a good idea needs to be shot.

  50. Bryan in Miami @ 98, thank you. And yes, my BFF and I were discussing the weird hypnotism the RWs work upon the working class, and how that has taken away a lot of the traditional Democratic base.

    I disagree…

Hillary has been in the national limelight much longer than Obama…

Americans know her, both good and bad…

His local south side Chicago record is largely unknown and really not that significant…

I think a canididate needs a national or executive record to look at to make a good judgement about the person…

    Obama does not have that…

And how he figured he should run for president after less than a year in the Senate is beyond me…

Actually I think it is troubling…

  54. leorising,

Of course the bitter comment applies to me. Doesn’t it apply to you? As times get worse; as the economy goes south; as you can no longer have faith in your government, aren’t there things you turn to?

  55. CANT THE PRES DO BOTH? I MEAN, I WANT A PRESIDENT WHO IS SMARTER THAN ME! LOOK AT WHAT BUSH HAS DONE, AND HE IS AS DUMB AS A SACK OF HAIR

  56. Anyone who isn’t bitter about Cheney’s “So?” comment when confronted with the latest poll on military action in Iraq, is certainly out of touch.

  57. Steph is right—yes, I always think of Hillary as “just one of the gals.” I’m going to take her to Big Lots with me next time she’s in L.A. 😉

  58. To borrow a comment in the NYT (regarding Chuck Todd on MSNBC) – Chris Lavoie is the designated driver of the Stephanie Miller Show. Fairness is not “tooliness.”

  59. Chris,

Ya Obama’s Annie Oakley comments are negative, but he doesn’t go there unless she goes there first. Now she’s going to try to dwell on this desperation move for the next week, and he’s going to slap her again. Count on it.

  60. No he said both Clinton and Bush were responsible for bad times…

Hes putting down the one democrat to be in office in the last 30 years…

  61. #115–me too. I don’t want to go to a bar with them. I want them to be WAY smarter than me!

  62. I thought the “bitter remark” was entirely appropriate, and I’ve been working at lower- to lower-middle class jobs my entire working life. I think it does apply to me, and to practically everyone I know. I just don’t take offense to it. It could have been a bit better phrased, but that’s a small point.

And I just heard the “You turn to what you can count on” part of it. It puts the remark in a bit of a better light.

  63. How insincere, Look at BHO’s resume’ it has far more than a year in the senate.

The most perfidious way of harming a cause consists of defending it deliberately with faulty arguments.
    ~ Friedrich Nietzsche (1844 – 1900), The Gay Science, section 191

  64. See- this is what I posted about up above. The word “cling”.

OK Chris- what a bunch of CRAP. I never thought I’d say that about you. You’re looking at the one sentence that every news service was harping on. You’re doing EXACTLY what we always criticize the right about. You’re better than that.

NO BLACK CONSERVATIVE EVER GOT THE SUPPORT BLACKS GIVE TO WHITE DEMOCRATS CONTINUALLY.

The support that Obama is getting from Blacks is partially due to Hillary’s attacks. Initially in this campaign he DID NOT this support. Hillary has made her self detested.

  66. Next thing you know. . . Hillary will be touting her lifelong membership to the NRA and how she used to be, “a rodent and rabbit hunter. Small varmints if you will.”

  67. #109
Yes 8PM + the usual ESPN BS.

It’s MUCH more important for ESPN to televise a Sox-Yankees game in April. And no I wasn’t foolish enough to stay up to watch the whole thing.

  68. I gotta laugh at Hillary supporters. The same people who decry whenever Obama says anything negative both seem to have no problem with Hillary’s kitchen sink strategy and probably decried John Kerry for not responding strongly enough to the Swift Boat Liars.

  69. DRII Says:
    Who is Annie Oakley…

I think your average Clinton voter remembers Annie Oakley. 😛

  70. I have to say that reading Barack’s “bitter” comments and hearing them are two different things–even posting here, in more of a hurry, I’ve noticed people will hear a tone I didn’t intend.

  71. Travis Stark @ 111, you said: “as you can no longer have faith in your government, aren’t there things you turn to?” Actually, I turn to politics…

I dunno, I don’t like anyone else calling me bitter, I guess. I like to think I still have a little hope left.

And even if I do feel bitter, that’s not what motivates my spirituality, or even my tobacco addiction. There’s an aspect of “giving up” around that that I don’t like.

    If that makes any sense…

  72. Mark Penn is still working with the Clinton campaign. He plays the same role for Blackwater. I’m angry that any Democrat would employ someone who works for Blackwater. I would love to see a Clinton supported explain how she can employ a Blackwater lobbyist.

While many of our troop’s families are on food stamps, have lost their homes to adjustable rate mortgages, and are struggling to even just keep their families together, we are employing mercenaries who can leave when they want, make five times or more what our troops make, are using torture in our name and can’t be prosecuted for what they do in Iraq.

Yes, I’m frustrated and angry about Washington, lobbyists, and self-serving politicians who never accomplish the changes they’ve promised to fight for because they get sidetracked by special interests and money after they get elected.

  73. I’m glad Chris is being at least a little realilistic…

When your campaign is largely about words…

    Your words count…

  74. #136 — but they aren’t reversed are they? And Hillary is just angling for repressing the vote. This is not about the issues, it’s about how Hillary can advance herself by slinging mud at her opponent.

  75. Hillary is elitist, out of touch, and she looks down

methinks the pot’s trying to protest too much that the

  77. Except DRII his comments weren’t elitist, and to throw the elitist card, as was done with Gore and Kerry, is a page directly out of the Republican playbook.

Hillary even went so far as to throw Gore and Kerry under the bus last night at the CNN faith thing, by saying how we’d had problems with elitist candidates in 2000 and 2004 and they both lost. Obamas response was that actually, Gore won!:-)

That’s a Democrat, not someone who runs around branding fellow Democrats as elitist when they talk about serious topics.

  85. Leorising,

OK, you turn to politics. So do I. At least until I’ve had enough that I can stand no more and then I try to get outside. Do people turn to religion in tough times? Of course. Do some people demonize immigrants because their own jobs are in danger? Of course. Personally, I tend to demonize Republicans, even though they’re not all bad people.

What I fail to see about Obama’s comments is how they were at all elitist.

    ——————————————————————————————-

You can disagree all you like but the math bears it out. Being a State Senator for 12 years and United States Senator in 2006 is longer political career than her stint as first lady — not elected officia — in the white house and governorship with her husband..

Her experiences are so limited she has to lie about them

Obama’s been in the Senate since 2002

There were sides of Hillary that many people DID not know about and her behavior in this election has been a surprise.

  90. Travis Stark @ 166, I felt that Sen. Obama’s comments did not take into account how the people upon whom he was commenting would react to his comments. How to better explain?

It’s like a doctor looking through a window at a room full of twitching, DTing, detoxing alchoholics, and pronouncing, “their problem is, they’re bitter.”

Even if the problem really is that simple, the folks in the room probably don’t want to hear about it, because they know their lives are very complicated…

  94. Hey, I’m only 42 and the Annie Oakely crack made me do a coffee spit take all over the carpet.

I think it’s a sign of Obama’s broad base of knowledge that that would come out of him and it’s not as though he has to think of retorts on the spot but rather has time and other people behind the scenes to think of one.

What I find endearing is his practically professional, dry, comic timing.

But the fact remains: race is a factor in Obama’s overwhelming support among black voters…

    Simple as that..
    —————————————————————————————————–

You attack a Black person as she has and you can pretty much anticipate the same response as a Black person could expect with a White response.

When she gave that darkened picture of Obama in tribal garb claiming it Somali as well as Islamic dress, we got the message even more so than racist whites who would be turned off by the picture.

When the Drudge report stated emphatically that they got the picture from the Clinton camp she really began to get on peoples nerves because she was playing on the popular racism to diminish his popularity. In the Black community it had the opposite effect.

Obama’s support is a direct result of Hillary Clinton, the Goldwater Girl, and her filthy tactics.

That statement is 100% correct. It was Clintons, Bill Clinton approving it and Hillary campaigning for it, who approved NAFTA, which has resulted in millions of lost jobs in America.

It was Bill Clinton who passed the “regime change” law with a Republican Congress/Senate that Bush also used to defend is $4 billion a week invasion of Iraq

Those two factors alone have contributed to the economic downturn

most divisive politician in America. That’s why her
campaign is so self-serving and shows her power-lust
trumps any sense of what’s right for the party, or the
nation. It’s Always All About Hillary.

  118. Condihash…

Obama’s degrading comments about the Clinton administration were wrong…

Again the economy was largely good with Bill…

Now, I do think Bill deregulated a little too much…

His deregulation works if you have a competent administration in office…

But when you have a terrible, inept, ridicolous, impotent, huberous, near criminal, and whatever other negative adjective, administration

the deregulation has not worked well…

But do not blame Bill Clinton for Bush…

and also do not blame Hillary for Bush using the war authorization vote as an excuse to go to war…

that vote was not a demand to invade Iraq…

  119. So now Hillary’s an engaged gun conscious enthusiast and shot a duck. If she’d ever been near a gun she’d be a widow…and probably in living in Levinworth.

The old “I’m a Yankee’s fan”! routine…It only worked in the Senate race in NY because the other candidates SUCKED. And we celebrity loving NY democrats SO wanted rock star Bill (as we ONCE thought of him before he clearly reached one marble missing Grandpa status) based in NY.

Well his taking an office on the main shopping drag in Harlem did rehabilitate the area. Even this scared little white boy felt free to roam around the neighborhood looking for an apt. (Yes, I hate that there is a kernel of truth in all stereotypes no matter how small or archaic).

I really don’t think the the same dynamic is going to be in play in this election. It’s the entire country NOT just NYC and I think people in general despite their backgrounds or education and I say that not as a snob but as an insecurity driven self educated and innately intelligent but no rocket scientist kinda guy) are going to fall for her “I can be whomever you want me to be” act.
People at large hate a bullshit artist and as a FORMER HRC supporter and one who still believes that personally she really is a funny, caring person, just a no holds barred, vicious campaigner more drive to win and foster the “Clinton Dynasty” thing than really thinking that despite her worthiness and inherent capabilities to be a great President the fact is she’s an awful fighter, dirty and she’s not showing any concern for what hanging in and throwing mud at the other democratic candidate and how that’s going to weaken which ever one of them ends up going up against Grandpa not to mention the material she’s HANDED his people.

Thank God that she AND Obama will rip McCain a new colostomy bag in EVERY debate…though I think as a hot head with a hairtrigger temper with a severe lack of control (when not medicated) I can say that nothing set’s a hothead off faster than arguing with an unflappably calm cool opponent.

Maybe people who have a different preference are all dolts? Mindless drones? Yet your deduntant binary post is the only thing that really drones on without any meaning.

The more you imply some cultish BS the more you sound cultish yourself.

Have you ever noticed that similarity – the convergence of what one posts and how it reflects on them? It means the more you belittle others the littler you look in others eyes?

You seem like a reasonable chap with some interesting perspective, you make yourself seem less so by the “bad/good” repetition, that signature doesn’t do you justice, doesn’t communicate your point of view and the whole “binary” thing is so ten years ago (and GOP thought driven).

  154. The point of Barak Obama’s statement was that when people feel disenfranchised and left with no control over their current situation they will become bitter and intransient over SINGLE issues like religion or guns.

If this simple statement of reality affects the decision of any voter, then it will only prove Obama’s point.

People who allow themselves to be influenced by rhetoric used to instill fear but does nothing to improve their daily lives will be more likely to become bitter and develop a distorted view of what are and what are not the important issues.

Note that Ahmed Chalabi with his powerful republican friends, back then, had a lot to do with that bill. I don’t know how anyone was ever fooled by that convicted criminal and idiot.

  157. They seem to use any song with “Rain” and either substitute it with or rhyme it with “McCain”

So I guess if we actually bomb Iran, we can lift the Milli Vanilli song and, “Blame it on McCain”

    I’m waiting Condihash,

How exactly did Bill Clinton help George W? You said it isn’t all George W’s fault — Bill helped him.

Now I’m really curious. I can’t imagine what it is you’re referring to.

    Ron

    ————————————————————————–

How the hell can you NOT even imagine that Bill Clinton signing that into “regime change” law (i.e., Iraq) not have helped Bush in his run up to war.

  161. Condihash,

OK, I get you. I sort of agree with you. I’m sure there are lots of other things former presidents did that they did not foresee Bush abusing.

But it’s a HUGE UNFAIR STRETCH to blame former presidents because Bush shamelessly grabbed and abused his power as president.

Saying they “helped” Bush abuse power is not at all how I’d describe it.

Hillary never attacked Obama based on race…

The media created that whole thing with Bills innocuios “fairytale” comment taken completely out of context…

I don’t know if you are black are not…

    ——————————————————————————————————-

When she or her campaign reps gave that picture of Obama in tribal garb (darkened picture at that) to the Drudge Report she was playing on the popular bigotry. There were/are people who claimed he was Muslim in secret. In fact there are many people (all political affiliations) who are untrusting of Blacks, few them with the same trepidation as radical Islam. That picture played into that.

She knows damn well what it insinuated which is why they gave the picture to Drudge Report in the first place.

Whatever way you want to describe it is your biz. The fact is that’s exactly what they did. The very law itself is an abuse of power on Clinton’s part – never mind the economic sanctions on Iraq during his administration that led to the death of hundreds of thousands of Iraqis.

Such laws were always wrong and downright stupid, Bush took it to an extreme but he had help.

More importantly, after eight years of poor communication from the top, let’s make sure everyone knows how to speak intelligently.

Barack, Hillary: please think before you speak.

It’s not often that we ask our candidates, “Is our candidates learning?” 😀

  170. With only 2 members the FEC is legally not allowed to take any action.

  171. >>> Ron…
    >>> Had Clinton had a little more discretion than to get fellated in the oval office then Gore wouldn’t have lost, but, that’s an old topic.

That’s totally bogus. It didn’t hurt his approval ratings at all. Here are the facts:

    Bill Clinton (2001) 65%
    Ronald Reagan (1989) 64
    Dwight Eisenhower (1961) 59
    John F. Kennedy (1963) 63
    George Bush (1993) 56
    Gerald Ford (1977) 53
    Lyndon Johnson (1969) 49
    Jimmy Carter (1981) 34
    Richard Nixon (1974) 24

    http://tinyurl.com/bdjm3

If Clinton hurt Gore, it’s because Gore seemed so boring in comparison.

  172. I agree that they will bomb Iran and then everyone will get scared and vote for McCain. I think the candidates need to stress the cost of war, the high price of gas and they might just beat him. I think some people are sick of the cost.

Why won’t McCain release his medical forms? My brother said he looks sick and will probably die in office paving the way for another Republican for eight years.

Hastert did something like that. Last election we all knew he was retiring but they didn’t want to lose his seat. Soon after being elected he retired and we held a special election, but in this incredibly, unbelievably Republican district the Democrat won. In my precinct he won by 70%!

  173. McCain joked Whoopi on the View…

he thanked her for dressing up for the ocassion…

Ofcourse Whoopi dresses like Punky Bruster of 1987…

    I thought it was funny…

  174. So, Sen. Clinton’s long weird laugh after asked about Bosnia is not an issue. It has nothing to do with her being Presidential. Yet, Sen. McCain joking with his wife is relevant?

    (@_@)

  175. So, when Hillary states the obvious it’s “racism,” and a “insensitive,” but when Obama uses the word “bitter,” and the phrase “clinging to their guns,” when talking about working class Pennsylvanians, he gets a free pass? Wow! is that a double standard!

  176. So, after having effectively slapped down all this “Blame the Clintons for the Bushes” silliness, I gotta get off line.

    Bye Y’all.

If she didn’t send that picture then she should correct the officials at the Drudge report because they stated emphatically that’s where they got it from – the Clinton. If you email the Drudge report and ask them they will respond and give you that information – I didn’t do that but I know people who did.

That was tribal garb Obama was in. Go look over the net. Somali Garb, Kenyan Garb and border tribes look similar but of course the Somali was played up.

There’s was never anything to be ashamed of but she sent that picture because she knows the ignorance and bigotry of the American public she’s attempting to draws votes from and she’s full of…

  178. You can’t be serious George, I am so sick of the Clinton camp destroying our image as a democratic party it needs to stop. Obama has explained his comments enough said

  179. Here is a presidential fun fact:

President Andrew Johnson was subjected to his impeachment trial in the March BEFORE the end of his last term in office, yes LESS than a year.

Apparently the Congress at that time thought it was NEVER TOO LATE to impeach a leader who violates the law.

Even though Johnson was NOT impeached by only one vote, he was essentially neutered for the rest of his presidency.

My point is that if this President and Vice Presivnet are left in power to attack Iran, it will be Congress’s fault for not doing their constitutionally mandated duty.

I think if the administration decides to bomb Iran, the people will rise up and demand impeachment.

There is no way I want any fighting in Iran, unless Iran declares war on the US, and Congress declares war on Iran.

NovaM stations have her. She will be on at 3 pm at the NovaM stream. (we have a link to it there too!)

  187. For Stephanie’s buddy;

RE: RANDI ON NOVA: Green 960 is carrying her from 4:PM – 7:00 as per their site’s schedule.

Haven’t seen any station sites advertise if that’s her show’s new “Live” time or a one hour delay only on that station. Though, for the first year or two on AAR she did 4 hours from 3-7 so who knows…I’d like to.

Still looking if anyone knows please post any stations that are streaming her live as her own website is still being held hostage by the suits at AAR…which I’m sure she will “Take care of” very soon.

Five’ll get ya ten she sues them into their grave at last.

  188. Has anyone here heard of personality change after heart bypass? Perhaps its the medication, don’t know.
But… can this be part of the difference in Bill Clinton?

  189. OOPS My misinformation on Randi R broadcast times. Green 960 may be carrying her 4-7 delayed because of that “show” they have on 3-4 but the NovaM site has a banner photo of Randi and Mike Malloy that clearly says 3-6.
And the Randi Board there lists Affiliates.

Yeah Randi. Back to normal. Mama 9-Noon, RR 3-6. Thanks AAR. for your ineptitude I now have 3 hours to run errands until Sam Seder get’s an offer for a Noon to 3 spot somewhere. Anywhere BUT at AAR.

    YaaaHOOOOO!
