President Donald Trump fired acting Attorney General Sally Yates Monday night for “refusing to enforce a legal order designed to protect the citizens of the United States.” Trump didn’t call Yates to dismiss her, she was informed by hand-delivered letter, according to a different administration official.

 

A handful of President Trump’s cabinet nominees’ confirmation votes were postponed Monday, including Treasury Department nominee Steven Mnuchin, Health and Human Services nominee Tom Price and Small Business Administration nominee Linda McMahon.

 

Former President Barack Obama criticized President Donald Trump’s executive order curbing immigration in a statement saying he “fundamentally disagrees”, backing protesters who have taken to the nation’s airports to express their displeasure with Trump’s action on Friday.
