An increasing number of House members yielded to Speaker John Boehner’s blunt command to line up yesterday behind his budget bill even as his staff moved frantically to alter it in an attempt to resolve the looming fiscal crisis. Congressional leaders alternately voiced optimism, determination and a haggard frustration as they struggled to make both the dollars and the votes add up.

On the same day that House Speaker John Boehner told GOP-ers to “Get your asses in line” and support his debt ceiling proposal, Sen. John McCain also blasted fellow GOP-ers. In a Senate floor speech laced with sarcasm and stings, he aimed especially harsh fire at the tea party.

Stocks plunged Wednesday as the U.S. edged closer to defaulting on its debt and the economy showed more signs of deteriorating. Major indexes gave up all of their gains for the month.

Does ANYBODY remember the repubicans blubbering about "reaching across the aisle" every time they wanted to Spend us into the poor house?

I just watched a rerun of the Larry King show with Ann Coulter and Aisha Tyler. They made poor Aisha sit next to Ann and the look on Aisha's face is priceless. Ann is wearing her typical smirky smile then they pan over to Aisha and Aisha looks like she just stepped in something icky.
