OMG!Michelle makes perfect politian. When she lies, she opens her mouth! Bearberry98765

PS: autocorrect hosed me. Slow should be allow and convoke should be convince.

Hey Steph and the gang, I'm very happy for the state of new York and that they were progressive enough to slow gay marriage. I personally don't put a lot of stock in marriage and I feel the whole thing is a bit antiquated. The only part that matters to me is the legal benefits that come from it. Of course my girlfriend feels differently so I will be getting married sometime soon.
I can say that I do in fact see the oppositions side on this. Not that I agree with it but I understand their point of view. Marriage which is an off shoot of matrimony has it's roots in religion. Marriage is a creation of religious beliefs, those same beliefs that seem to feel homosexuality is an abomination. So for the religious zealots out there it is an affront to their beliefs to have gay people who go against gods will engaging in a holy act.
Unfortunately, this is also an antiquated concept because the moment you could be married in a courthouse, on a boat, or in a las Vegas chapel o love, the sacred religious act just became an act of general society. And since gays are a very large and important part of our society then they should have all the rights of that society such as marriage. Now if I can only convoke my girlfriend to just have a civil union and I'd be ecstatic.
Thanks, Jerzee

Good morning I have some interesting info about Michelle Bachmann Here in Mpls there is a well respected Plant & flower Nursery called "Bachman's" on the front page of their website is a disclaimer of ANY relationship with Congresswoman Michelle Bachmann. There is a great blog called "DumpBachmannBlog.com. Minnesota used to have canidates aspiring to the presidency like Hubert Humphrey and Walter Mondale. Senators like Paul Wellstone now we have Michelle Bachmann. I'm ashamed.

I thought a flying bleep is how you join the mile high club?

Bye all.

Where are you getting all these crackpot callers today? A drunk calling himself a "psychologist?" OK, than I'm an "rocket scientist."

If that caller has a Psych degree, it's from Oral Roberts University. Or Bob Jones U.

At the risk of invoking Godwin's Law:
Wow, G.Beck sounds like Lord Haw-Haw's boozy final broadcast, when he knew the war was over and he was on the losing side.

Old people like hard candy because they often take medications that give them dry mouth.

Holy fun facts!

I heard Sarah Palin attended the premiere of a movie about herself. Gee, I wonder if that film was:
a) favourable to her,
b) neutral and even-handed, or
c) hard-hitting and critical?

Michele Bachmann: Right town, wrong John Wayne
http://www.latimes.com/news/politics/la-pn-bachman...

Part of Bachmann's economic plan is to eliminate capital gains tax, and to eliminate the minimum wage. Wow - talk about class warfare - the investment class paying no tax on their investments (profit from sale of stocks) - but the working class not even being guaranteed a fair, even though low, wage. I'd vote for that (puke!!!). What crapbag she is.

Steph's finally got a reason to move back to New York again.

@#3, #5, & #7: Ditto here. When I clicked the Ustream link, I got Bill Press for some reason. So I'm listening live via the local radio carrier's website. Props to KTNF, AM 950 in the Twin Cities :-)

I was listening today and your theme was dealing with gay people adoping. That got me thinking. If the Republicans are so set against gays and they want to pound their Bible in doing so, why is it that they want to ignore all the other aspects of the Bible. How about qualifications for a leader be it church or government. Husband of one wife with subjection of children. Now that to me would say that if a politician is divorced he should be disqualified from running for office. Or how about the part where Neither Adulterers or Fornicators will inherit Gods Kingdom. I would think that should also be brought up and put in their face.

Republicans like to spew the Bible when it is to their advantage, but the idea of Divorce, Adultry, Fornication all seem to be pushed to the side. Now just think why should i take advice from Rush, when he can't even deal with a partner.

I'm a straight guy with straight parents, & my kids (age 7 & 4) will not get to know my parents.

My mom died last year; my boy will maybe remember her a little, but my then-not-yet-3-year-old daughter will only know what we tell her about her nana.

My dad left us when I was 8, & was only a sporadic presence in my life till I was a senior in college, when we became estranged permanently--I've had no contact with him in almost 20 years. It's unlikely my kids will ever meet him, & they won't hear me talk about him much either.

To sum up: Screw that caller who implied (I think--he had a LOT of trouble making whatever his point was) that the kids of gay couples will automatically be deprived of their heritage. There are already plenty of straight folks who won't know their relatives for all kinds of reasons. ALL KINDS OF REASONS. Get it? Every family, every relationship is DIFFERENT. Let's stop pretending otherwise.

Birthplace of John Wayne...Gacy

Rightwingers do tend to skimp on the research. Of course, it's easy to get confused researching John Wayne the actor, since his real name was Marion Robert Morrison.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Wayne

Where is our eclesiastical mook when we need him? This coming from Mr. Diamond Mine Pat Robertson - give me a break.

Good morning, liveblog!

#10 gforce10, Thanks for posting the one working livestream link - I thought my computer was on the fritz.

Once again, intrepid livebloggers save the day!

Caller sounds like a spectacularly uninformed stalker.

#5 - ktlkam1150 in LA isn't working either (webstreaming Green 960 in SFO), thought it was my computer this morning.

Morning all...

Hope liveblogger Ivan Biggin isn't affected too much by wildfires in NM.

Rodney: It's @ Ustream.com, but don't bother today. It doesn't seem to be working.

On Bachmann: When your hometown is home to a notorious serial killer, and whose name is synonymous with one of the most crushing military defeats in history, maybe you shouldn't announce your candidacy from Waterloo.

How do I view the live show?

Best word in Japanese to describe Aisha - YAKAMASHI! Look it up.

Happy Tuesday Board! Power outage in the 'hood - and guess what when the power goes out you can't get the garage door open. Public trans to work - but at least I made it.
