Thanks for the laffs Mama and Mooks!

Do "God" again, Jim. C'mon!

Arguing naked: another reason your kids hate it when you fight.

Bye all!

Karl is good on the radio. Is Hal listening? Huh?

Paula - Mucinex - seriously.

My eyes are wattering just listening to this.

"Smuttley" - heh heh. The dog that always gives your leg a special welcome.

I remember Lost in Space too -- to my 6 year old eyes, it was pretty cheesy (guess I was a born critic) :-D

Meeting time - see y'all tomorrow!

when dogs walk on their front paws and spin their tails - earthquake on the way, fyi

#19 Klassie,

#28 PSP, Say what?

Ewww! I remember the hankies my dad used in 60s! I also remember my mother washing them, hanging them up to dry and ironing them, so I guess that killed all the germs...

hey Paula, ever try an expectorant?

20: I'm sorry, did you just say something?

Steph runs "Bullshit Strategies" doesn't she?

www.whitehouse.gov that is

As a side note, I'm not enthusiastic about having the president, any president, be able to unofficially conduct war without input from Congress.

On the other hand, this deadlocked Congress illustrates the problem of an 18th century solution per the Constitution, which inherently favors NOT going into war, enacted at a time in history when travel was slow and military engagements took time to assemble, allowing time for debate and reflection.

In our modern era, when cities can be obliterated in hours or minutes, the idea that the president can take appropriate action with follow up by Congress is the de facto compromise we've reached since WW2. The downside is, it does carry the risk of abuse by a warhawk administration like Bush.

20. that's why I send my comments directly to www.whithouse.gov

Hey Rand, can you sound more whiny? We need more man-children in Congress.

Yowzah! One more time, Jim and Chris's thoughtful, targeted, reasonable criticism of the president, and supportive e-mails, are NOT fodder for the right or Buddha-belled Karl Rove. Why not:

a) they don't CARE - citing a lefty as authority for anything, even Obama-bashing, is uncool and gets cooties on rightwing listeners;

b) they would never quote progressive criticism because it includes reason and nuance and might give their listeners ideas;

c) the only time they quote leftwingers is when they chop quotes up, like the James O'Keefe crowd did with the NPR quote, which is one step away from

d) their favorite methodology, which is to simply make things up. That is to be preferred anyway because it is simple and they don't have to do any research, which is too much work.

So, bottom line is, leftwing criticism of the president is basically trees falling in the forest. No one hears it (including the president), so it doesn't exist.

Time for a new Born Free movie with beavers.Set them free in Sarah Palin's Alaska.

13: Hmmm.. Is there some connection to Onofre's arm (Milagro Bean Field War), I wonder? [Onoafre's arm was a convenient boogy man to warn the kiddies about.]

Seriously, I think I remember that particular plant is located on or very near a major fault. And it was well KNOWN at the time of construction.

Speaking of unions, the Repubs always complain about costs for wages and benefits, but so much more has been achieved in the areas of workplace safety and simple DECENT treatment of workers thanks to them. Of course, ultimately the Repubs see this as eating into their profits, they are characterized by greed and short term thinking.

I love gay Bollywood in the morning!

So much for "they encourage us to bring up safety issues"!

"Our safety standards are higher..." That's funny caller, there's a Southern California Edison worker on the news who got fired after he raised safety issues at the San Onofre nuclear plant. Which is right on the beach, BTW, and probably near a fault too.

The Issa family will cut a bitch.

Morning all!

...I got nuthin'.

9: Hearing her makes me want to chemically castrate myself.

..ask Keith Olbermann about Laura Ingraham - she was his squeeze back in 1997. Physically, she's still pretty hot (IMO), but such an incredible bitch with a screechy whiny voice - I can't imagine it being tolerable, even for SuperSex (tm) with her.

BTW: Obama just announced he is going to increase domestic oil and natural gas production by 1/3. So much for Fox honesty.

. . . oops, Jim's here now. My bad (blush).

. . . gee, I hope the reason why Jim's not here today doesn't have anything to do with all the conflicting opinions going back and forth . . .

The problem is all the messaging is coming from the right. They are disciplined and relentless. The only time the right struggles with the message is when events overtake them (like back in 2005/2006 in Iraq). Democratic lawmakers are like the Libyan rebels...retreating and waiting for reinforcements.

Next thing you know, Karl will be using that coffee cup to do Jim's Darth Vader imitation :-D

Good morning, Dannybob, Ivan and livebloggers!

#1, We definitely need more COWBELL

#2 , Yup, the Republicans have made their bed, and now they have to lie in it. Unfortunately, so do we....

Good mornin' Mookie(s)!

Eric Cantor's latest foot in mouth episode reveals that he doesn't know how laws are made, and needs a remedial class in junior high school government. He apparently believes (and threatens that) a bill can become law without being passed in identical wording by both houses and signed by the President..

Good news (I think) is that Teabagger Party approval has dropped to 32%, in spite of the Republican promotion of massive ignorance on multiple subjects.. Repubs have created and pandered to these simplistic, stupid bastards, and now they have to deal with them. Goody.

Happy Thursday Liveblog. It feels like we've all gone through a lot this week. Looking forward to the weekend.
