Sigourney Weaver calls in at 10:30am ET / 7:30am PT to talk about her movie “Prayers For Bobby,” which will be airing on Lifetime on March 24th and 25th.

Paul Soglin, former Mayor of Madison WI, calls in at 11:05am ET / 8:05am PT to talk about what Gov. Walker’s anti-union measures will do to the state and the nation

A magnitude 8.9 earthquake slammed Japan’s northeastern coast Friday, unleashing a 13-foot tsunami that swept boats, cars, buildings and tons of debris miles inland and prompting a “nuclear emergency.” At least 32 people were killed and there were reports of several injuries in Tokyo, hundreds of miles away.

• Wisconsin’s union-busting governor and fellow Republicans in the state legislature successfully pushed through a law Thursday that strips public workers of most collective bargaining rights.

¡Adios mis amigos!

bye all.

Well that's it, show's over, stick a fork in it, it's done. Bye all. Have a weekend.

Looks like "100" isn't going too happen. Nice try all, though.

73 the Penalty Box has really gone downhill. Stuffings all outta
the couch, garbage everywhere, minifridge don't work anymore, don't
look like the maid has been here in ages...

Tea Party in Momma's Pants!? and we're invited? prolly expect us
to clean up...

OMG, I could be a lesbian. When do I get my toaster?

#79: Thanks. I just thought of it.

Douchey is not even a zero - he's a MINUS.

74: Great slogan for the next election!!!

Steve Douchey is perhaps the lamest zero on Fox News..

John needs his ass kicked.. Join me?

Up and down the coast from Newport Beach to the Golden Gate Bridge, well-coiffed TV reporters seem to be licking their lips for that career-boosting footage of crashing destruction. I hope they get their hair mussed.

Gotta go see my republican mom. Happee Fridee everyone! Get to 100. Bye.

Tax cuts for Wall Street.

Pay cuts for teachers.

69/70: Gentrification of the liveblog? Maybe we can get a historic tax credit to rehab it.

62: Well, you'd have to pull his head out first.

68: check out the "Inside Job" documentary movie, which points out that the same foxes who ate all the financial chickens earlier were re-appointed by Obama, and that the "regulation" added by Obama is weak as cat piss.

69 [wrow!] that splain's evverything, we're the ghetto now
everybody cool is ovah at the ustream blog. Harrumph.

66: not sure we'll even make it to Farta (100). I suppose everyone is over on the ustream blog?

63 two largest contributors to Obama: Goldman-Sux an' Morgan-Shitty.
go figure.

#60: Isn't that the plot behind every Godzilla movie?

aw Geez this livebrog has fallen a long way from the days of regular
visits to Sparta. Last hour arreddy and we're lookin' lucky to make
one hundred posts. "one HUNDRED POSTS" (in best Dr Evil voice)

Republicans are whining that union members are getting paid "too much in benefits"... ie: "health insurance".

Hmmm. MAYBE if health insurance DIDN'T COST SO MUCH, we wouldn't have to pay so much in benefits? Hmmm?

56 It would be nice to smack Rush around with a long two-by-four.
He SO deserves it. Caged and poked at with pointed sticks wouldn't
be inappropriate either...

I just watched Michael Moore on Rachael. I agree with him, why aren't wallstreet thugs in jail? Obama made a mistake when he did not go after wallstreet. He signaled a weakness to these crooks and he signaled they could keep doing what they were doing and rape the US economy.

60 maybe we could bury the nuke waste in Rush Limbaugh's ass?

58 Limp-paw will die soon, and go straight to Hell. And he knows it.

#33: "Nuke plant on fire in Japan? Oh Good, another reason to have
@#$@#%#ing evil nuke plants everywhere"

Abso-effing-lutely! It's safe, it's clean, it's too cheap to meter. And there's no shortage of places to bury radioactive waste safely for 10,000 years. How's that dump site at Yucca Mountain coming along?

56 to paraphrase Poppa Hemmingway:
"Every time I hear Limbaugh say ‘Democrat Party’ it sounds
just like a c@!#$ucker swallowing"

[no offense to c@!#$uckers!]

Oh, that muh-fuh Limbaugh! Listening to his bulsh** makes me so angry!

And when these repulipigs can finally stop calling it the "democrat party", I'll stop calling you a-holes "Tea Baggers".

Rethugs are evil, that's all there is to it.
And they've got lot's of moron Useful Idiots
willing to cut their own throats 'cause they
believe the crap Dimbulb and the rest sling at them...

Every time I hear Limbaugh referring to the 'Democrat Party' I'd like to beat his ass. Actually, any time I hear him speak, I'd like to beat his ass.

Oh Momma

Flush Dimbulb is SO inappropriate

harshin' my buzz

#49: On second thoughts, "We'll Meet Again" would be a good one to go out on. A song that says "you're effed. Game over, man."

52 anyone who talks about it
is suspect until proven truthful

46: I grew suspicious when he said he went into mosques with an interpreter. I doubt American soldiers were sent into mosques in Iraq. Could you imagine the uproar if that had happened. I'd call him on that.

I loved Ms. Weaver putting on her space suit in "Alien"..

44 Penile Spines? wha? mine's prehensile!

Chris, the time when the tsunami's due to hit would be a good time to play Woody Guthrie's "So Long, It's Been Good To Know You" which he wrote while he was hunkered down in a basement during a tornado.

aaack! darn fongers! that Guardian link should be:

D'oh.

Back from Meetingpalooza. What'd I miss?

Hiya Ivan!

Lame rightwing caller who claims to have been in Iraq? Momma and the Mooks have to form the habit of quickly cross-examining these callers' purported employment. "Military"? What branch? "Own your own business"? What do you do or make? (Betcha they'll say "consulting" or some other BS).

I've also wondered with all the overpaid riffraff hired by bloated defense contractors if some of the "military" callers who "have been in" Iraq and Afghanistan aren't from that sector (and keen on promoting their rightwing agenda) rather than genuine enlisted military. A few weeks ago a genuine soldier recently returned from Iraq called the Ed Show and described a military contractor paid $100K to run the gym in the Green Zone -- of course he hired "locals" to do the actual work for cheap.

#36: Less for me when I'm there :-(

Morning Bloggers! While I wait to get "into" the U-stream chat (and have a free moment at "work" to join in)... From the "Speaking of Spine Department":

>> Spineless Penis Makes Us Human

>> And here we thought it was just our big brains: Since diverging

As a commenter at the Beast pointed out, aren't most politicians spineless penises? This might explain a lot!

;^)

From today's Paul Krugman:

As the national debate over fiscal policy descends ever deeper into penny-pinching, future-killing absurdity, one voice is curiously muted — that of President Obama. The president and his aides know that the G.O.P. approach to the budget is wrongheaded and destructive. But they’ve stopped making the case for an alternative approach; instead, they’ve positioned themselves as know-nothings lite, accepting the notion that spending must be slashed immediately — just not as much as Republicans want. the White House is aiding and abetting the dumbing down of our deficit debate.

fing=find

39: Maybe she can fing a Groupon for that.

Eisenhower also expanded medicare and social security, in terms of increasing the kinds of people who could participate.

Some guy was lost for days in your bush, Steph? You need to trim that mess.....
