I was hoping we could hear the whole show instead of just the audio of the RWW and Rude Pundit and the guests. Sometimes the funniest part of the show is the first hour, when there are no guests. Just wondering.

Great song for Valentines Day Chris!

39. maps are hard. thanks.

Nothing like dragging us back to the dark ages. Repugs are truly dinosaur brains.

Nobody can forget Bush. Tragic yet hopeful for Gabby!

Ohhhhh I'm so jealous!! Wanted to go on the cruise but instead spent the week with my relatives. Sigh.

Speaking of maps, trying doing this in less than 5 minutes. Fun and challenging! http://www.rethinkingschools.org/just_fun/games/ma...

(unbelievable what the Republicans are trying to do)

Was Snooki's all-day meeting in the tanning bed?

What do Lohan and Kardashian know about foreign affairs? Probably more than we think.

#33: Well done.

Hey, that was more coherent than Palin's comments.

Valentine email from "Daily Dharma"
Love with Your Whole Heart

In the spiritual path, there's nothing to get, and everything to get rid of. Obviously, the first thing to let go of is trying to "get" love, and instead to give it. That's the secret of the spiritual path. One has to give oneself wholeheartedly. Whatever we do half heartedly, brings halfhearted results. How can we give ourselves? By not holding back.

Did "Lady Antebellum" choose that name because "Bring Back Slavery" didn't test-market well?

That's why God gave us http://www.textsfromlastnight.com/ .

Happy Valentine's Mama. I think you're great... ...no matter what they say.

Morning all, and happy Valentine's Day! If you're expecting an amorous outcome to the day/evening - you may want to plan to end up at "her" place, rather than "his" - recent research confirms that the long-held suspicion that guy's places are, um, dirtier is correct:

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/41514712/ns/health-men...

>> Seven of every 10 coffee tables checked at the guys’ places
>> harbored coliforms — a variety of bacteria abundant in the
>> feces of warm-blooded animals. Yes, feces. To help put
>> this filthy finding in true laboratory lingo, we turn to
>> the study’s leader, Dr. Charles Gerba.
>>
>> “They have poop on the coffee table,” Gerba said.
>>
>> Um, why?
>>
>> “I would suspect the guys probably put their feet up on
>> the coffee table. About 90 percent of shoes have fecal
>> bacteria on the bottom after you wear them for three
>> months,” said Gerba, professor of microbiology at
>> the University of Arizona...
>>
>> To be fair, coliforms were discovered on the same surfaces
>> in some of the bachelorettes’ homes. The bugs just weren’t
>> quite as common — or plentiful — at the ladies’ digs.
>> Except for one spot: 33 percent of the women’s front
>> doorknobs harbored colonies of coliforms.
>>
>> Again, though, the bachelors — and their grubby hands —
>> may be to blame.
>>
>> “The entrances into the women’s homes — we haven’t
>> quite figured out yet,” Gerba said. “But I assume that’s
>> why women always expect guys to open the door for them.”

RE: Scott Walker's lack of support for education and teachers - let's not forget this is a guy who dropped out of college with a 2.59 GPA

#22 - can't tell you how many times I've started to pick up one of her books to see what all the buzz was about, flipped through it and then decided, nah, not my cup of tea.

Ron Paul couldn't handle Brüno - how is he going to handle the Republican nomination? Ain't gonna happen.

I can only imagine that Rethugery is doomed, since it's
SO
DAMNED
DELUSIONAL

no actual contact with the world the rest of us live in.
The disconnect has got to tell eventually.

Just spent a few days with my elderly right winger relatives - whom I do love - but who are totally, completely under the brain wave influence of Faux news. Glenn Beck is the great oracle of truth, don't cha know....

21 Rand Raul... iz this turd for real? can he possibly believe all
the crap he spouts? I can't see how. Unless Aqua Buddha is involved

Both Scott Walker and John Kasich are doing the exact same thing, following the exact same script. The good news is that Wisconsin isn't taking it lying down. In Ohio? Crickets.

18 Ayn Rand turned out to be a Speed Freak, hopped up on
the methamphetamine the whole time. AND a hypocrite, AND
batshit insane. Her "philosophy" is absolute garbage, it's
only known because uber rich Tooles glommed on to it as an
excuse to be filthy rich and not pay their share. And morons
bought it. Plus she was a terrible, horrible writer. Cardboard
characters, rampant misogyny, stunted plot development,
ridiculously bad stories... EFF Ayn Rand.

Rand Paul is also on a rant against union/airline workers. He has declared that aircraft are not work places for airline crews. Seriously...you can't make this crap up.

3, 7 Rep. Alan West... whut a piece of werk

I wuz wondering whut manner of twisted gibberish today Valentine's Day
but now I see. Typical stoopid rethugery. Momma lookin' good, I like
her Valentine's Day Slutwear Lingerie. I notice it's mohair, so she's
just ichin' to get out of it...

Frightening how ill informed these people are - how sad that it works.

Someone mentioned that the rugged Ayn Rand, who felt people should not get help from the government, ended-up accepting Social Security and Medicare from the U.S. governemnt. It would be great if Stephanie could talk about it. It appeared in the Huffington Post on Dec 5 2010. Article by Michael Ford, titled; Ayn Rand and the VIP-DIPers. I am happy to know that our society has a place for people like Ayn Rand.

Since it's Valentine's Day, I hope RW Jerry will call in to profess his undying love for Mama....

"Not a racist statement"? Well, maybe not unless you count the poster of Mubarak with the star of David and devil horns....

Oh, that's a definate trip to the penalty box.

#13 - only with the battery charger!

#12: "Mine started out with a nice fight over the cellphone with my ex over how to use a car battery charger. Sigh."

Did the sparks fly?

Happy Monday Board, and Happy VD.

Mine started out with a nice fight over the cellphone with my ex over how to use a car battery charger. Sigh.

Hugh Downs is 90, Mrs. Brady Florence Henderson is 71, Mafia mistress
Phyllis McGuire is 80, Mayor Michael Bloomberg is 69 and Diva Renee Flemming is 52. Happy Birthdays all!

OMG - I forgot to mention she-who-won't-be-named's 47th birthday last Friday. It really wasn't intentional.

Really . . .

9: 83% of school districts in Missouri report they will cut back on teaching positions this year - several already have. We want good education in this country - we just don't want to pay for it. In the mean time, Albert Poljos wants a 300 million dollar contract. The CEO of Emerson Electric in St. Louis earns 24 million a year - he says he's not going to create anymore jobs in the US because of Obama's policies, yet Emerson is one of the biggest military contractors in the nation. I don't know how much longer the middle class is going to be able to put up with this.

Good morning, livebloggers! Happy <3 Day!

#5: The LA Unified School District may be about to lay off 4000 teachers, KNBC just reported.

In other news, Rummy apparently gave NPR an interview this morning.

Morning everyone and Happy Valentines Day!

Havent been here in a while so i felt compelled to share this:

Fox Nation Posts Video Asking if the Fourth Horseman of the Apocalypse Appears in Cairo:

Mind you this is their "NEWS" site lol

3:

"..get out of the way of the private sector, accused China of using capitalism “as a weapon against us,...”"

It was allowing US companies to shut plants in the US (and some they had already moved to Mexico) to China. So, should we not allow companies to do this, or should we get out of their way? I don't get it. Oh, and RWNJs, don't give the line that companies moved to China because of regulations in the US. They moved because of cheap labor -this is the reason they shut plants in Mexico and moved them to China - a Chineese person will work for less than a Mexian worker.

Stream is back up! YAY! Thanks Stephanie!

I posted last week about how police officers love their unions, but to a great degree vote Republican. Another group that likes their union representation, but has a large number of Republican voters is teachers - I know this from personal experience. It's a shame that they represent the segment of our country that votes against their own best interest.

Tennessee Bills To Target Unions, Tenure.

The Murfreesboro (TN) Daily News Journal (2/13, Stockard) reported, "Murfreesboro and Rutherford County teachers are battling legislation they believe is designed to bust their unions and take away their voice. Teachers are most angry about legislation co-sponsored by state Sen. Bill Ketron, R-Murfreesboro, that would end collective bargaining for teacher associations." According to the Daily News Journal, teachers "consider this bundle of bills an 'attack' on teachers and the Tennessee Education Association, including legislation to change tenure law, a move to prohibit them having payroll deductions to their teacher associations and a measure removing TEA-appointed representatives from the board of trustees for the Tennessee Consolidated Retirement System, to which teachers contribute 5 percent of their paycheck."

Morning all...

This was LA TV station KTLA's news teaser that ran a bunch of times last Friday evening:

"Mubarak steps down! Egyptians are celebrating!" - shot of cheering crowds - "And why YOU might not be!" - shot of gas pump nozzle - "The ripple effect on gas prices!" - shot of pump total $$$ going up and up....

Ah, that's my local McNews... bringing it all back home.

I'm sure this will be covered in Right Wing World, but Rep. Alan West (RWNJ-Fla.) was on full-display as the closing speech of CsPACkle:
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/02/12/allen-wes...

He crowed about the 'firing' of Keith Olbermann, saying he'd been named Keith Olbermann's "Worst Person In the World" five times, "and he (Olbermann) got fired for it."

The South Florida Republican blasted the health care law, said the U.S. has to strengthen its foreign policy and get out of the way of the private sector, accused China of using capitalism "as a weapon against us," and warned about allowing multiculturalism to "grow on steroids" and overshadow "definitive American culture."

Good Morning, everyone! Happy Valentine's Day.

Great news about Rep. Gabrielle Giffords recover continues to be released:
http://www.nytimes.com/2011/02/14/us/14giffords.ht...

With a group of friends and family members acting as a backup chorus, Ms. Giffords has been mouthing the lyrics to “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star” and “I Can’t Give You Anything but Love, Baby.” And as a surprise for her husband, who is celebrating his birthday this month, a longtime friend who has been helping her through her rehabilitation videotaped her mouthing the words to “Happy Birthday to You.”

“It’s not like she’s speaking the way she spoke, but she is vocalizing and making progress every day,” Pia Carusone, Ms. Giffords’s chief of staff, said in a telephone interview on Sunday. “She’s working very hard. She’s determined. It’s a tight schedule. A copy of it is hanging on her door.”
