Serious question:
I know we do NOT want Repugs or TeaBaggers to win any (more) positions of power, but as a dedicated Leftie, I am deeply conflicted; when our voices are routinely ignored how else BUT with our votes can we register OUR dissatisfactions?

We Progressives worked our butts off in `08 to elect Obama and majorities in both chambers of Congress. We were thanked for our efforts, promised prominent places at the table of every significant initiative - then kicked in the ass, told to shut up, and were forced to the back of the bus, where we watched Centrists and Right-of-Centrists take inordinate roles on EVERY major initiative: Healthcare Reform debate, Stimulus, banking, wall street, DADT, GITMO...the list is endless.

I cannot think of two policies or vital positions where Progressive wishes were recognized.

If the Admin hasn't listened to us when we had a decent majority, why should we expect them to hear us, and act in our interests, when any remaining advantages will be even slimmer? What price will the Administration have paid for taking our votes, then ridiculing us as `the Professional Left'?

Even if the Democrats did lose the House - which they won't - they have already passed over 400 Bills that have been held up in the Senate by the Retardlicans. Just pass them with a rubber stamp and send them to Obama :)

For `Nec_V20' - I believe there IS a chance that the Democrats lose the House, and lose 1 or 2 seats in the Senate... but they need not lose majorities in either Chamber to lose (or lack) momentum. The RepugniCants didn't have majorities for the last two years, yet they - and their Blue-Bitch fellow travelers - have effectively pissed in the punch at every turn.

And the Administration and DNC have been infuriatingly resistant to take ANY punitive actions against DINO obstructionists.

I will go on record to say that there is no chance of the Democrats either losing the House OR the Senate.

On the other hand, with the amount of very unhealthy frenzy that the Republicans have stirred up, I fear there will be a spate of "Second Amendment Remedies", "Reloading" and "Taking out" as a result.

This is because in this election cycle it has been legitimised.

The movie points out that other than during war times, the deficit went up the most under the Republican hero Reagan. Of course, they say it's was the Congress' fault under the Democrats, not Reagan's. Whatever.

It was pointed out that during those happy days of the early 1950s, the ones Republicans just love to yearn for, when Ike was President, the national debt was a larger % of GDP than now.. Interest rates were 2%, tax rates for corporations were over 90%, most of our oil was still being produced in this country, people were having babies, the interstate highway system was being constructed, etc..

And as opposed to Christine O'Donnell Paris Hilton gives a fuck :)
