The last U.S. brigade combat team in Iraq has left the country, a move that helps U.S. President Barack Obama reach his goal of 50,000 troops in the country by September 1. A spokesman for the 4th Stryker Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division, said the last of the 4,000 members of the unit crossed the border into Kuwait early Thursday.

• Former Democratic presidential candidate and Vermont governor Howard Dean, a hero to many liberals, has called efforts to build an Islamic community center two blocks from the site of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks “a real affront to people who lost their lives.”

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is raising questions about who is funding criticism of the so-called “Ground Zero mosque.” She joins “those who have called for looking into how is this opposition to the mosque being funded.” She added: “How is this being ginned up?”

Have a great day, everyone!

241 -- KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN!!!!

Christie Tood Whitman was head of the EPA when they lied to first responders that the air around Ground Zero was safe to breathe.
Not that unsafe air would've kept them away, but the government shouldn't lie like that.

#219 Botany Bay? Botany Bay? Damn! We've got to get out of here!

#224 -- no Atheists showed up for work on 9/11/2010...

From a Ted Nugent interview with the Arizona Republic newspaper:

Q: What would you say is the biggest misconception people have about Ted Nugent?

A: I am not aware of any misconceptions. I think everybody knows I rock harder than any human being ever, have created the top-100 guitar licks of all time, constantly kill many innocent animals and own more guns than the Cuban army. What's to misconceive?

http://www.azcentral.com/arizonarepublic/ae/articl...

Dr. Ruth Westheimer was not only a QUANTUM LEAP persona, but an Israeli sniper who never shot anyone.

OOOOOh not that kind of dear

Republicans aren't hypocrites. They're frauds. Let's call them that.

Did Ted use wiskey on the dear?

Nugent needs to be put out in the woods without his crossbow and let PETA hunt him with gay and French lesbians

#226 — An act of such grace by a group trying to reclaim their faith from, and in the shadow of such a heretical assault on it by serving the local community can only be viewed as an act of penance and contriteness on behalf of Islam everywhere.

For the record, Mobility Scooter is still willing to be ridden by Stephanie even in a post-cast world.

Christians have just never gotten over when we were Crusading and saw Islamists parapets were bigger than ours.

221 — I find that POV with a laugh shuts most anti-birthright citizenship-ers up long enough to back down the issue. The truth is ( at least here in the North East ) most people can find a way to trace back their lineage to one event or the other.

#224: the don't count of course. they were damned anyway.

#220 - Only if you use the storage containers made of rich Corinthian leather. Otherwise, you'll have to replicate it once you get there.

223 -- probably the only way I'd trust a Concord is if it were operated by QANTAS.

I see a mosque not as some kind of affront to Americans, but just the opposite. What if a Christian group wanted to build a church or Christian center near someplace we decimated in Iraq because they were against the war and yet still were Christian Iraqis and wanted a place to hang out and even pray in. Would we think it would be ok for the Iraqi citizens to prevent it from being built? I bet not. I bet none of the anti-mosque contingent would say, "That church has no right to be in Iraq." Just the opposite.

224 - They "deserved to die" because they weren't "good God-fearing Christian Amurikuns"?

I hate to be all geeky but what about the atheists that died on 9/11.

#219 — hey from what I hear the Austrailian Dollar is in better shape then the US Dolllar. We could be doing you a favor by sending you home. You could afford to have all the ketchup you want flown down on a Concord taken out of mothballs.

How about an Islamic kosher deli and bagel shop? WILL THAT BE OKAY?

217 thank you yes I think you put it well

#216: I live in AZ, so that would be the quickest solution. I thank you.

217 -- will the ketchup keep on the long voyage to Botany Bay?

Pinto is Spanish for "My Daughter's a Lesbian"

#197 — we'll send the ketchup. #203 — My ancestors signed the Mayflower Compact & fought in the revolution and the only thing this buys me is the right to make fun of the whole stupid anti-14th amendment idea. ( although I really would like to ship Malkin somewhere. Slow boat to China? ). Chill. I don't buy into this crap at all.

#206 just call Sheriff Joe

I knew a Corinthian who was into leather. Just sayin.

With this whole 14th Amendment Repeal thing, I think the Republicans are literally transforming into the Death Eaters.

Yep, Fred and Edie are great character actors, in addition to being comedy royalty.

209 -- Yes... with my laptop... pointed at thisiswhyimgay.tumbler.com

Mama, maybe your'e thinking of The List of Adrian Messenger? The closing credits start with most of the cast peeling off fake faces to reveal their famous mugs.

Don't be surprise if a Fourteenth Amendment showdown leads to a Great Compromise (insert THE ELECTRIC COMPANY joke here) like www.thomhartmann.com says, which removes anchor babies like in Europe (I thought Republicans didn't want European influences) in exchange for removing Constitutional rights for corporations to render the Citizens United decision null and void. Also, see Bruce McGill as a Glenn Beck-like talk show host in www.imdb.com/title/tt1532110/ ["Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" Anchor (2009)] arguing anchor babies with John Larroquette.

#167: Will you be in your bunk?

Gone With the Wind fun fact: in the burning of Atlanta, that's not Vivian Leigh. In order to make room for construction of the GWTW set, they burned down the set of King Kong. Since Scarlett Ohara hadn't been cast yet, they had a woman hide her head and filmed her fleeing the fire.

203 -- Mayflower? Is that some kind of English Coyote racket?

My husband is mostly Filipino. Now that I find out Michelle Malkin is too, I'm a little grossed out. I may have to divorce him. Or maybe deport him, since he and his brothers were the first generation here. I will call ICE immediately. I'll miss him.

202 - Learn to love vegemite, Bruce!

192 lessee, my ancestors came over on the Mayflower, other
ancestors were Natives (Ottawa) so I guess I got some kind
of right to say something about the immigration thingy... cept
I don't really know what my lofty perch really entitles me too.
Big freaking deal when your ancestors came here. This strain of
xenophobic ferriner-hatin' small-minded paranoid hate-filled
mental aberration is old in this country. See: The Know-Nothing
Party. What we are dealing with on the Right are Neo-Know-Nothings.

#197 -- Dammit! They don't have good ketchup down there!!! And the toilets don't flush the right direction!

195 - Exactly. By her own logic she's not entitled to citizenship. At least not until she is naturalized.

194. that ain't mohair, it's DOG HAIR

HLN = Hot Lesbian Nookie ;)

okay that's all I can do ... stay frosty people ;-)
(I need to follow my own advice, between ignoring Pakistani flood (which is a result of Climate Change and these people had very little to do in making it) and the Park51 Community Center ... I have been angry most of this week.)

195. Sorry. She has to go. #196 — you're out too.

I'm an anchor baby -- 1st generation Australian immigrant. Do I have to go home? I hope not -- there's too many things that can kill you down there.
