The Rude Pundit (Lee Papa) calls in at 6:30am Pacific to talk about the State of the Union address and Obama’s question time before the GOP.

President Obama sent Congress a $3.83 trillion budget today that would pour more money into the fight against unemployment, boost taxes on the wealthy and freeze spending for a wide swath of government programs. The deficit for this year would surge to a record-breaking $1.56 trillion, topping last year’s then unprecedented $1.41 trillion gap.

• The Obama administration said Sunday it would consider local opposition in deciding where to hold 9/11 trials and pledged to seek swift justice for the professed mastermind of the attacks.

President Obama engaged House GOP-ers in an extraordinary televised debate Friday, days after calling for a more bipartisan approach to governing. The tone was civil, but Obama stood his ground as he parried some of the harshest critics of his performance as president.

Happy Mondee! Steph you could try ping-pong instead of spinning AND meet some boy-toys at Spin :-)

315: amy, you play a mean banjo rhythm.

314: but the truth will set them free of those political games they play over there at the department of law.

Have a great day, everyone!

Next week, chauffeur-driven limo.

312: "this is grendel blitzer reporting from the cornfield..."

Some people will do anything for headlines.

306: and that's different from nancy walker singing thru a bounty commercial how ?

Esmerelda can sneeze people away. Yes she can.

275 thanks. But the pricing on Dish network still remains.

301: well the part turned out very handsome just the same.

bows to shaf

Well done, great Spartan

Congrats, Shaf!

And, for those that like to joke that MTV once showed music videos, they're onto you.
MTV now shows music videos over the closing credits of most shows (split screen, the top is a music video, at the bottom of the screen is a strip with the names of those who worked on the show). Now they can rightfully claim they do show music videos on MTV. 30 seconds at a time, but it's still a music video.

Oooh I just love hearing the Ass Whoopin' Obama gave the Repubs, again and again..

I really to see all of the concern that the Obama administration has expressed when it said it would consider local opposition in deciding where to hold the 9/11 trials. To me it's a no-brainer, hold the trials is the most commieservative area in the country. They can get their nut off convicting the evil;-doers.

you can hear by the background noise how obama is instigating the ordering of many pangalactic gargleblasters.

just poor planning on my part

"Tonight we dine in Hell -- I mean, Denny's -- er, SPARTA!"

My SPARTA lies over the ocean
So bring back my SPARTA to me

Steady on! Sparta on the horizon.

Where...are...the...drinks...and...the...smokes?

My SPARTA lies over the sea...

The American people continue to ask: where is the bourbon, Bohner?

I'll admit, I watched Jersey Shore. It's a multicar pileup you can't just drive by, you must stop and stare.
I like to think of the show as a cautionary tale, kind of like the Teen Mom series. MTV shows you these people so you can avoid a simliar fate.

Hey, where's the jobs at?!

Would be Spartans, better get your asses in gear!

My SPARTA lies over the ocean...

"This isn't an intergalactic kegger!" Yeah, it's more local.

Rip Torn's got a bit of a drinking problem.

276: "....very few Beatles songs fall into the sucky category (mostly pre Rubber Soul)....."

trudat, thoe they did commit "all you need is love" and "you know my name", and john lennon did vindicate mark chapman with "give piece a chance", so on average, their down here with us mortals.

"Hear your fate, O dwellers in SPARTA of the wide spaces..."

Funny, I've never watched Jersey Shore and don't feel deprived as a result.

geithner looks like gene hackman.

#280 You've got to admit if people told you someone just got elected president of the US, you're going to assume it's a white man. At least that's how it was prior to 2008.

280
AND that he's a seekrit Muslin terrist.

/and a wobber
/and a wapist
/and a pickpocket

#280 Oh, my goodness! I forgot for an hour. ;)

272: so in other words, they wish us alerted to the dire news that obama is "black". - how do they manage to believe that people have not found out about this already ?

Steph's demo is the 6 year-olds and the 75+ crowd. Farters both. Just sayin'

277: It's what they do. . .

254, oh I get it. It's an election year, and here come the right wing trolls to try to divide us and get us fighting with each other.

#273 I'll have to check that out later, as youtube is blocked at the workplace.
I love Rock Band: Beatles, the first weekend I played I sang my heart out and ended up with a sore throat for a few days. But it was worth it, very few Beatles songs fall into the sucky category (mostly pre Rubber Soul).

271: DirecTV is no longer owned by NewsCorp. It's Liberty Media.

What I loved the most about the Q&A was that it was unfiltered by the media (at least if if were covered live and in its entirety). What we saw was the true behavior of the GOP House members versus the President being, well, Presidential.
