fugelsangComedian John Fugelsang fills in for Steph today, with the Mooks sitting in as well!

Rev. Jim Wallis of Sojourners calls in at 7:05am Pacific to discuss the need for more spirituality in the debate on health care reform.

Eric Boehlert of Media Matters for America calls in at 7:30am Pacific to talk about accusations of racism against President Obama, and Fox News smearing ACORN.

meeksRep. Gregory Meeks (D-NY) calls in at 8:30am Pacific to talk about health care reform.

Sen. Max Baucus (D-MT) unveiled the Senate’s version of health care reform yesterday. The plan would require all Americans to have health insurance, but lacks a public plan option or even a trigger for a public option.

The White House says President Obama doesn’t believe he’s being criticized because of his race. They were asked about the topic following comments on Tuesday by former President Jimmy Carter. Press Secretary Robert Gibbs says some people have disagreements with some of Obama’s decisions but that those concerns were not because of his race.

• ACORN, an advocacy group under fire after some employees were caught on camera appearing to advise a couple posing as a prostitute and pimp to lie about the woman’s profession to get housing help, said Wednesday it is ordering an independent investigation and is refusing new admissions into its service programs.

Mary Travers of 1960’s folk trio Peter, Paul, and Mary, has died, according to her publicist. She was 72.

Hey

Hey flombaye what you call irony actually is scarcasm. I will definately say right now. " 911 was the biggest most insiduous crime in the history of this country" So you don't have to worry about what happens in Dec. 2010. It will be moot!

CBO on Max Taxus's Exchange proposal:

On a preliminary basis, CBO and JCT estimate that the proposal’s specifications affecting health insurance coverage would result in a net increase in federal deficits of $500 billion over fiscal years 2010 through 2019. That estimate primarily reflects $287 billion in additional federal outlays for Medicaid (net of reduced outlays for CHIP) and $463 billion in federal subsidies that would be provided to purchase coverage through the new insurance exchanges. The other main element of the proposal that would increase federal deficits is the tax credit for small employers who offered health insurance, which is estimated to reduce revenues by
3 Under current law, states have the flexibility to make programmatic and other budgetary changes to Medicaid and CHIP. CBO estimates that state spending on Medicaid would increase by about $37 billion over the 2010–2019 period as a result of the coverage specifications.

$24 billion over 10 years. Those costs would be partly offset by receipts or savings, totaling $274 billion over the 10-year budget window, from four sources: revenues from the excise tax on high-premium insurance plans, totaling $215 billion; penalty payments by uninsured individuals, which would amount to $20 billion; penalty payments by employers whose workers received subsidies via the exchanges, which would total
$27 billion; and indirect effects on federal revenues associated with the expansion of federally subsidized insurance, which would add up to $12 billion.

Have a Good day everyone.

Bye all! Good show mooks!

Bye all! Have a good day!

Great show! Have a great day, y'alls!

227: i met houston mayor kathy whitmire.
rocketed to wider visibilty when dustin hoffman dressed as "tootsie".

220: "davey and goliath" doth rock

Oops! I forgot Bill Clinton. I was really nervous when I saw him in person. I think I forget things when I'm really nervous.

lest the real magnitude of the import be overlooked,
CARTER IS A LIBRA.
stop and think about that.
a year or two after most people have been convinced by the persistent efforts of limbaugh, beck, and oreilly, that antipathy for obama is EXCLUSIVELY about skin color, a prominent and certifiably intelligent LIBRA has actually come to a conclusion. do you people have any conception of how far beyond absolute the evidence has to be for a libra to actually make a decision about something ? - and a very careful, deliberative smart one on top of that. - the old saying says "never pass up an opportunity to shut up". - and yes, that was very likely crafted with limbaugh in mind.

thoe i suspect it is both more important and more revealing that limbaugh missed the opportunity to shut up on the morning of 2009 september 11. - any way you can, hear and distribute the dittocast of that morning. - i hope all the world can see how sage and wise limbaugh is thru the 2009 september 11 attempt at playing the 9-11 attacks for laffs. limbaugh deserves suffering.

#221---Really? What was that like? Politicos I have seen in person:
Kerry
Jerry Brown
Villaraigosa
Gavin Newsome
Al Franken
Adam Schiff

And I know I saw some others but I can't recall them. I've never seen Boxer or Feinstein in person. Or Maxine Waters.

225: Yep.

#223 - Their letting them do the dirty work which they secretly support.

I best remember Tom Delay's plastic hair. I think he got his where Devo got theirs. And Delay is another prime example of a pasty white fat man's face, and his is particularly waxy. Delay may very well be made of wax; I notice his nose turns reddish, however, and that has been an indicator of fondness for brown liquor..

218: Right, and if the RWs believe this is just a small group, they need to condem them loudly and tell them there not welcome in their party. Period! Otherwise, they give them tacit endorsement.

I bet Steph is laboring in a union right now, or at least breathing hard.

#219 - I've seen the Boner in person. Scary...

219. don't forget the plastic hair

If Cheesus had any economic sense, He wouldn't have thrown out the money changers. Those guys could have set up some clever derivatives and promise 20% returns in 90 days..

I truly believe if you take away the Boner's bronzer, in a couple of weeks you will see that he too is a pasty faced wealthy old white man with quaking cellulitic buttocks.

Carter is calling it correctly. Most of us know it even if Obama is loathed to admit it. That mentality still exists in this country and they are dragging their knuckles when it comes to evolving and moving forward. He's trying to take the high road but they can't even meet him half way.

Congress is where people go to turn into wealthy, greedy, pasty faced old white men with quaking cellulititic glutes.. The rule is perfect, look at what Congress has already created.

#213 Yep. Boring, respectful discussions don't make for great teevee.

On healthcare I think a a child born today will be covered by chips. Once they reach the age of eighteen they should not be covered by chips but should not have to pay for healthcare unless they get sick or have a accident then government should jump in with catrotrophical benefits which if the person survives catastrophe he will then start paying into general fund in proportion that is required. I know people who were never sick a day of their life! If you don't need it you don't have to get it but if you do you do pay into pool.

206: true dat. matthew 8/9/10 show that jesus was completely clueless about economics.

Gee, there's that bias again. The news stations DID not show any town hall meetings that were calm, letting discussions take place. At least I didn't see any....

204: Come on, Jesus was a liberal, socialist, idealistic hippy

what the hell is congress good for? just askin'.

I learned something new late last night: never take chicken bones or a cherry pie to an oil drilling rig. It tempts fate.

Speaking of tempting fate, I suspect I'm one of those doing that.

But ain't it fun?

194/201: i frikkin LOVE that tour. i hope they cover the part where ron white gets thrown out of a bar. "i dont know how many union thugs it would have TOOK to KICK MY ASS, but i knew how many they were going to use."

198: "The brother still owes me 20 bucks." - Dogma

Snowe needs to keep the corporate money coming in. There's now a factory that makes military vehicles in Maine, of all places.

#204-----Very true. Jesus made it and gave it away. He was not a good businessman.

200: there was a mix-up. they mainly used dodgeball uniforms.
"if you can dodge a jawbone, you can dodge a ball !"

This business of feeding the masses with a couple of loaves of bread and a few fishes would disturb the modern Republican mentantily - after all, MONEY could have been made! An opportunity was lost to make money..

With the GOP, GREED is the CREED <-- my invention, pay me if you want to use it!

Healthcare is not a commodity, dammit.

#194----That looks like fun. Will the media cover it??

#196 - but did they wear the little outfits then??

#194 Yep, I friended them on Facebook. I think ProducerChris mentioned having one of their representatives on the show soon.

#193----Jesus actually sponged off of his friends and followers during his ministry years. Before that he was self-employed as a carpenter.

So he worked, and then he went on informal Welfare. What a loser!

Masochist: "Hurt me! Hurt me!"
Sadist: "No. No."

I thinking smiting and begatting evolved into S & M..

187: well, okay, if we're focusing on little details anyway.... and there was the whole, never-got-around-to-instituting-communism thing.
just a lot of publicizing of expenses, with privatizing of profits.
thank goodness the teabaggers know better than to be enrused by such schemes.

#189 - Have you been to this website -
https://madashelldoctorstour.com/Home_Page.html

Looks like there could be a huge march on DC pretty soon :-)

Did you know that Cheesus was the founding NRA member? Check out the photos, where He went rabbit hunting, with a lever action Winchester rifle..

#175---of the 47,000,000 who are uninsured, some of them can afford to pay something. That will help. Especially for the young adults who don't often get very ill. They will have the ability to pay into the system for a while before they need to use it.

186: this, from a guy who uses itchy and scratchy for meditation.
