schakowskyRep. Jan Schakowsky (D-IL) calls in at 6:05am Pacific to talk about health care reform.

Rep. Joe Courtney (D-CT) calls in at 6:30am Pacific to talk about health care reform.

Gerald McEntee, President of the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees Union, calls in at 7:05am Pacific to talk about President Obama’s speech last night.

woolseyRep. Lynn Woolsey (D-CA) calls in at 7:30am Pacific to talk about health care reform.

Rep. Russ Carnahan (D-Missouri) calls in at 8:30am Pacific to talk about health care reform.

President Obama last night made a passionate call for Congress to fix the nation’s ailing health care system in the same spirit that created Social Security and Medicare in difficult times. He offered his most detailed outline for legislation while challenging GOP opponents to build on issues of agreement rather than play politics to exploit differences.

Rep. Joe Wilson (R-SC) shouted “You lie” during President Obama’s health care speech to Congress last night, and members of both parties condemned the heckling. Wilson called the White House to apologize and spoke with Rahm Emanuel, who accepted the apology on the president’s behalf. “We can disagree without being disagreeable,” Emanuel said to Wilson. “That was the point of the speech.”

Here's what we should call ourselves: "Real Americans"

I was listening to the "Stephcast" of yesterdays show and Roland Burris described the "trigger" differently than I understand it.

He said a "trigger" was when an INDIVIDUAL CONSUMER couldn't get health care. It would set off a trigger and allow him into government insurance.

Could that be right? Did I misunderstand him?

Good day all! THE TIME IS NOW!

Buh Bye Bloggoes!

luvya!

I have a better idea, lets have a public option with a trigger to single payer if the insurance industry does not fall in line within 5 years

Most of the people in this country, who have insurance,

1) can't tell you what it costs,
2) have had little or no occasion to use that insurance
3) are fearful of losing their coverage if they lose their job or get sick

Buh bye, BlogginMookenators!

Have a happy day, check out my zenful biplane photo.

Don't you ever change a thing.

L.

387 -- I like calling us the "fact based community."

as always, hope you all have a great afternoon,
look forward to seeing you again soon. I'll be
out tomorrow, but I'll be thinking of you. Have
a great weekend too

Bye all! Have a great one!

Great show!

See ya'lls tomorree!

Wouldn't it be GREAT to win a lunch with Karl Rove at the very hour he gets cuffed and perp-walked?

A dream date for us libs!

the rethugs live in a different world than the rest of us.
It has no connection with the reality everyone else lives
in, but it's damned amusing. Much funnier than the world
we live in.

379... damn!... got any other ideas?

Lunch with Palin and Rove would be more effective than ipecac.

I'd like to know what 85% she's talking about... I work in the industry and I've never heard anyone say "I am so greatful for my wonderful healthcare plan..." ever. at all.

The Repub plan is to require everyone to have insurance, paid for at the insurance company. And insurance companies can't refuse to insure anyone, although they can charge as much as they want to...

In other words, enrich the insurance companies some more.

Two quick questions gefore the show ends:

Who was the single goofball who shouted at the president?

What where those wads of paper some of the congressmen where waving at the camera?

The Republicans want to kick the can down the field with their golf shoes on until they can score a hat-trick at the three-point line.

376 -- there's already a "truther" movement -- thems' the ones that believe the Bush Admin was behind 9/11

371: good rebuttal.

>> my pooer's dad says:
>> He’s wrong. It can regulate interstate commerce.

Yeah, it's called the commerce clause! Those of use who went to school before Reagan de-funded education learned about it in 9th grade.

I think we should start calling ourselves "Truth-ers"... since apparently we're the only group actually concerned with it and all...

355 thanks for the info Maddy
363 I'll look k

The fake Repub plan was thrown. The four pages just didn't make much noise when it hit the table.

It's isn't easy being orange..

That's not true. There has been many amendments stating what the Federal Govt. has control over.

On the NPR after speech show, some GOPer was saying how the government can't do anything right and cited the DMV and the Post Office as dismal failures.

Not in my book! I've used DMB in Oregon, Washington and California (about 10 years ago.)

IT WAS A HELL OF A LOT BETTER RUN THAN A HEALTHCARE COMPANY!

For starters, when I filled out the forms and gave them my money, they then didn't arbitrarily deny my license!

And the Post Office? Always shorter lines than my local KMart! Best yet, I mostly never need to go in. A post office guy will come to my house and pick-up a $0.44 item. That's fantastic!

Yep, caller was a Tenth-er.

Then he should give up his social security and medicare if he's so against the govmt.

He's wrong. It can regulate interstate commerce.

OMG!!! Can someone please explain the difference between Federal and State Law to the caller... Not to mention they control any inter-state commerce...

356. It's emoticon-city, among other things. And it's free

#308--I made an earlier post about this. Wilson was one of seven legistators who voted AGAINST moving the flag from the State House to the Confederate memorial also on the State House grounds.

Wilson is also the recipient of a buttload of Health Industry money.

An idiot TENTHER!

I'm gonna go. Have a great day all. It's so nice to have a guy in charge who sees things the way we do. :-D

352 -- Yer right. there's a really disgusting commercial for a carpet cleaner (I think) running hereabouts that does feature some very graphic scooting.

yuck.

Wow, this Recovery site is rather interesting:

http://www.recovery.org/home.aspx

352 never been to the Thom Hartmann's liveblog, I'll hafta czech
it out...

349 -- I think the LB doesn't allow graphics to be posted.

This whole fiasco needs to be titled, Wilson's Homer Simpson Moment.

344 heh heh 'dog person'

336. that one should go to the Thom Hartmann liveblog. Ha ha. That ain't scootin' tho.

344 lolololol
