When the fire truck pulls up to your burning house, they don't check to see if you have fire INSURANCE first, then refuse to put the fire out if you don't have any. INSURANCE does NOT belong in health care, just as it doesn't belong in fire or police protection. Insurance companies are in the BUSINESS for profit, which means they don't care about your health, they care about their bottom line. We need to get profit (and insurance companies) out of health care!

This lady is right---we should send Congresspeople out on a field trip to find individual insurance for themselves.

#196----Speaking of stem cells, I heard about a really exciting experiement being done on a heart patient here in LA. He is receiving injections of stem cells to see if they can repair the damage done to his heart after heart attacks.

If has worked on rats but he is the first human to try it.

It will take about 6 months to see if his heart is able to grow new, healthy heart tissue to replace the dead tissue leftover from his heart attacks.

Wouldn't that be something if it works? Even if it works just a bit?

Sick and tired of the broken system we now have, in November, people voted for "change" in the health care system. People want health CARE (not health insurance)!!

Right now millions of us, even the insured, do not have the freedom to go to the doctor because we can't afford it if they find bad news.

He said that Michael was probably gay in truth but because his father and the African American community is so very against homosexuality he would never come out. He may never even have come out to himself in the silence of his own heart.

But I agree with Thom. I think that young man had a mountain of internal struggles he was coping with daily, but also had a truckload of God-given talent.

Why people can’t accept that God makes talent but He also makes some people gay, I will never understand.

Gale Storm died yesterday. Does anyone remember "My Little Margie" and "The Gale Storm Show? I know I'm old, but I used to love her and Zazu Pitts on their cruise boat. And in my own defense, I'm positive that I watched those shows in re-runs! Both of those shows were recycled over and over on American tv.
