President Obama today embarks on a trip to Mexico, then continuing on to other Latin American countries, where he said he seeks to engage in talks with the region’s leaders. Obama recently announced a crackdown on border violence and on the smuggling of cash and weapons into Mexico.

President Obama touted his tax cut yesterday as an important component of his plan to right the U.S. economy and put working families on a more prosperous path. Conservatives were trying to paint Obama as a tax-raiser through “tea party” protests held throughout the nation yesterday.

Stephanie,

My Best friend lives in Ft. Lauderdale, I live in Port Saint Lucie, About Two weeks or maybe more he said he couldn't find Your show any more on any south Florida Stations, just right wing whacked dogma and sports and it occurred with out warning, hes not of the PC generation and his simple pleasure each day was to listen to you on alil Am radio, no more So I took matters into my own hands and found the site and joined..

Now what first comes to mind about this cut-off of your market in south Florida probably had to due with right wing politics inb the FCC, really more so than $$$, Because if the argument was $$$ than how can Oxicodone Rush have monopolized the market when sponsors are running away from him? Somebodies footing his bills

And My Uncle also sad this change occurred right after he received a phone call from Market Analyst as to whether he listened to Sports radio in a night time poll conducted by a unknown source, he replied that he lsitened to YOUR SHOW! and they abruptly hung up!

But if all the other reasons, above are half truths, then what happened to the FCC regulations demanding equal views on talk radio and programing?? and more so, Who is in charge at the FCC and do you have a right to complain??, and To Who? what site, what email address? or in my Uncles a case a simple phone number

In the interim that I have to go out and buy him a computer and drag My Uncle Kicking and screaming in the 21 st Century, I guess is my only resolve is to recorded the broadcast on cassette or DVD-RW and mail them to him him weekly, This is beginning to feel like Eastern
Europe.

I was sure there was some clause in the FCC guidelines that they had to force equal broadcast time or am I wrong?

What happens to breeder dogs that don't get sold, (re: yesterdays podcast)...

is that they take a long time to sell, they get older, so the breeder lowers the price or has to give them away. All their trouble breeding them gets a lower return on their investment and they decide to do something more rewarding with their lives.

PS I know this comment is in the wrong location. I'm a luddite. I can barely podcast. I'm sorry.

Re #22 Schuster and (I am sure) a large staff of writers wrote every word of that with double triple word score entendres in mind.

I've seen both extremes among combat veterans, guys [especially from WWII] who casually gave vivid accounts of their experiences with no apparent distress. But we also had another family friend who survived the first wave at Iwo Jima and couldn't even hear WWII mentioned without breaking down. His wife and kids quietly informed everyone to steer away from the subject and thus protected him from alot of trauma. I saw him lose it a couple times. Not pretty!

Another close neighbor of ours was one of only two in his unit to survive the Normandy landing. He rather good-naturedly refused to discuss it but wasn't so touchy on the subject.

Hi All,

Just wanted to let you know that I'm here in Arlington, TX - Home of the "baggiest" of the teabaggers. At work today, many are meandering around in a haze, dreamily recalling the words of Rick Perry (which I don't really remember, but whatever). Just thought you'd like to know there are at least a few seeds of sanity here in Arlington (hopefully I'm one of them), so if you have questions - ask away :)

good luck
watch out for the teabagging rw freaks

have a decent Thursdee, SMS, Stephophiles, eMooks, and livebloggers.

405 With you on that! GO SPAIN!!

See ya Friday mookies. Later!

war is evil
the chickenhawk scum started this war
on purpose for their own gain
without any other reason
that's why they need a trial.
that and a bunch of other things.

Looking forward to Friday funnies. Bye guys.

War is failure. Bye all, and I'll get the donuts and muffins.

Who is the Surgeon General now?

399 I'm sorry. I can't imagine how horrible it must have been for those men. My cousin told us all about his first tour in Iraq which he spent in the Green Zone building walls. His 2nd tour he wasn't so lucky and he's said little about it.

395 I'm certain that happened in all wars. Again, war is hell. Vietnam was different because so many were against it and the draft. I had a cousin who was in Korea and he used to walk around my Great-Aunts property alone all the time and he never spoke. They called it shell-shock which I guess was the original for PTSS.

#395 - Yes. To this day, my hubby has nightmares, won't talk about his experience and can't bring himself to visit the Viet Nam memorial. Too sad.

all this talk about Vietnam War vets makes me wonder:

when to we get to see some troops come home?
not just one or two at a time, but more in the 100s?

oh btw there is a report on left wing extremist too

I guess these poor shmucks calling today all got their marching orders from Herr Karl, and they're coming in droves today!

My family had several kids in Vietnam and we threw parties for them when they came home, but I must say they were pretty somber parties. I think my parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles knew that their little boys would never be the same in either mind or body. I was too young to understand PTSS, but could tell my happy-go-lucky cousin Gary was both home and not home. And fact is, he's never recovered.

woah! the rightie has a tightie in his whitie!!!

375 thank you for that. The Sheeple are indeed pathetic.
And too stupid to survive.

see this is an example of the conservative and republican eye/ear to brain interface mess up

they are reading "right wing extremist" as conservative and republican

unless they are admitting it's the same thing

I love it when callers Godwin themselves.

Why do they let such wackos on the air? Aren't there enough of them on AM Radio already??

Hey, there's no anger in Mookdom! :-D

Cut him off, damn it!

Scrambly rw caller. Rambling incohrent talking points.

379 I was born during the war so I don't have personal memories, but my dad was drafted in the same week that his name came up on the National Guard list. He was lucky enough to not have to go. While I'm certain you're right about being villified, I know that there were good people like my parents who would never have attacked a soldier. My dad specifically saw a lot of his friends sent over there as well as seeing war protestors gunned down at Kent and he would have been sure to buy some beer for a returning hero. Surely, he's not the only one.

This guy sounds drunk.

geez caller take a pill

I think there's more than one sponge in this guy's head!

has this guy READ it?!

gad I hate these banner ads on comcast

no - Veit Nam vets were vilified from the right and the left.

My exihusband a nam vet called one of the vet orgs in the 1970s looking for help and was told

"You pussies lost us a war. Why should we help you."

25 years after he told me that story I still remember it

I'm sorry for any soldier who has to endure war and then endure hatred and apathy after surviving it. War dehumanizes everyone.

"what happened to the troops
coming back from Vietnam was not gonna
happen again."

You know - of course - Iraq vets have been faced with spit too?

http://www.nytimes.com/2007/01/28/washington/28pro...

There were a few tense moments, however, including an encounter involving Joshua Sparling, 25, who was on crutches and who said he was a corporal with the 82nd Airborne Division and lost his right leg below the knee in Ramadi, Iraq. Mr. Sparling spoke at a smaller rally held earlier in the day at the United States Navy Memorial, and voiced his support for the administration’s policies in Iraq.

Later, as antiwar protesters passed where he and his group were standing, words were exchanged and one of the antiwar protestors spit at the ground near Mr. Sparling; he spit back.

Very sad things.

See ya tomorrow!

Sheeple don't question, they want just want to be ruled.

Rush defending the pirates tells you all you need to know. We can all imagine what he would have said if the captain had been killed.

Keith O. slams Cavuto's crowd size fabrication

367 I'm certain there were plenty of folks in the 60s/70s that bought soldiers beers, food, etc. I know I try to thank any soldier I meet for their service including my cousin who did 2 tours in Iraq.

many of the tea baggers no doubt paid taxes on the tea bags they bought.

Capt, fine, I concede. I'm still skeptical, because I know memory in the face of a meme is plastic. It'd be nice to have contemporary accounts.

I gotta jet (with my made up memories)

You all have a great day and a better evening!

We'll see ya in the morning (I hope)

Last blogger out has to take the leftover donuts and muffins or they just go to waste.

Ciao!

in '91 we couldn't buy a beer in a bar,
our money was no good. it was directly
said that what happened to the troops
coming back from Vietnam was not gonna
happen again. The same now. This is a
horrible, illegal insane war. And it's
not the fault of the troops.
