President Obama, in his weekly address aired Saturday, announced that the Treasury Department is starting the process of implementing tax cuts from the $787 billion economic stimulus plan he signed into law Tuesday. By April 1, a typical family will begin taking home at least $65 more every month.

The GOP governors of Mississippi, Idaho, Alaska, Texas, South Carolina, and Louisiana said yesterday that they plan to turn down a portion of what’s offered in the stimulus bill that President Obama signed last week. GOP Gov. Schwarzenegger of California, however, said that he would be happy to take the money his colleagues turn down.

President Obama today will announce that he will try to put the nation on track to cut the deficit he inherited from the previous administration in half by the end of his first term. Most of the savings will come from ending the war in Iraq, raising taxes on the wealthy, and a more efficient government.

Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn (D) is calling on fellow Dem Roland Burris to resign from the U.S. Senate seat once filled by President Barack Obama. Quinn said the controversy surrounding Burris’ appointment has cast a shadow over his service in the U.S. Senate.

“Slumdog Millionaire,” the little film about a poverty-raised boy who goes on a game show as a way to find his lost love, won best picture last night, earning 8 Oscars at the 81st annual Academy Awards. Sean Penn won best actor for “Milk” and Kate Winslet won best actress for “The Reader.” Best supporting honors went to the late Heath Ledger for “The Dark Knight” and to Penelope Cruz for “Vicky Cristina Barcelona.”

Was that bumper music by EBN (Emergency Broadcast Network)?

#394 Yeah, in response to some discussion about it, ProducerChris wrote pretty much what I just put in post #399.

#383 Peter, the drops that used to occupy Right Wing World are now scattered throughout the entire show. So, the content is still there, just not all in one (or two) segment(s).

Okay?

393---very good! You found it!

I have no one who needs a good firking today.

382---yes, I have to shop around for a good one. It's such a hassle!!! How can you tell if they are good from an ad, website or a phone call? You can't. It's always a crap shoot.

I ask friends but they have no good recommendations either.

thanks all always good to blog with you
nice stress relief

ciao! I have to go write 1 test and 1 quiz. Fun. Not. But still better than taking the test or quiz myself. I love being the professor. ;-)

#386 he did? do you recall the details? Please advise, thanks!

firk! [smirk]
Firk: To beat; to strike; to chastise.
I'll fer him, and firk him, and ferret him.
- Shak.
To fly out; to turn out; to go off.
"A wench is a rare bait, with which a man
No sooner's taken but he straight firks mad." - Shak.
A freak; trick; quirk.

thanx I got a new werd!

My final point is the problem didn't come from minority loans it came from existing homes with equity loans.

367---years ago I used to sew dresses for my mom's best friend. She was about 4'10" and could only wear big tent dresses. The stores made everything out of polyester for fat ladies back then so when she found out I was a good seamstress she hired me to make a bunch of cotton dresses for her.

It was sad. She perspired so much from her weight. Once she joined Weight Watchers for 2 years and lost something like 120 pounds but she gained it all back over time.

OK, gotta go. Sorry for the sad story!!!

#383 no, it appears to be GONE as a separate section. I spent some time with my Stephcasts this weekend, and no RWW at all, although some 'bits' of it were scattered throughout all three hours.

I'm really wondering about this, I'd hate to think some pressure was applied (from ANY source) to remove the segment from the show.

I quickly made my dental appointment for today, because we may lose our dental insurance in early April. Gotta get those benefits while we can.

Bye everyone. Keep smiling!

Have a groovy day, everybody!

Bye all!(especially YOU Norm)

#379 Semi-officially, ProducerChris made a comment here a couple of weeks ago.

#373 Most of our modern swear words are in the Canterbury Tales. I look at swearing as kinda a family tradition.

#379, it hasn't expired, it just changes hours.

kar-hussein: my very groovy dentist let me pay in installments when I did not have enough money. And it is cheaper to get a cleaning once a year then wait and try to get it all done later (as I found out the hard way in the early 1990s, when I had no money/insurance).

'Conflict of Interest' doesn't appear in Ken Blackwell's dictionary.

367---wow. Where do you live?

i have a question...has there been any official announcement re the seeming demise of Right Wing World?

capt - I also have a dentist appointment. I made it for 1 pm so it wouldn't interfere with the show and blogging stuff.

See ya. Hope you have no cavities!

368---do give us a dental report. I hate the dentist. Haven't found a good one I can afford yet with my crappy insurance.

Roland the Seatless is back :-(

Capt - good luck at the dentist. Have fun. ;-)

Ken Blackwell should know (about power corrupting). He was a poster child of out-of-control State officer.

362---my daughter the English major enjoyed bringing home all sorts of archaic swear words from her studies.

Firk is a word I found in Shakespeare once. I can't recall what it means but it's great fun to say.

Just heard that Frangela are going to be on Green 960 this week 4-7PM PST - testing the market...
http://green960.com/pages/blog.html?feed=313154&am...

should be interesting!

oh wow. gotta run!!

capt thanks ... can't believe how time ran away this morning...

damn, thanks for the heads up...

damn!! did I get distracted this morning!!

#350 - he doesn't want to stop smoking, so that will probably not help his situation.

Demdame - I just want to point out that when I lived in polluted NYC I had no allergies. Just saying. I love trees, except at this time of year. Everyone at work is also suffering from allergies. I don' t know why it is so bad and so EARLY this year.

too many trees. ;-)

Now I'm off to the dentist (UGH and AARRGGHH!)

Check you all tomorrow in the morning!

I will check the chat but so far I stop in and no ones is ever home . . .

Ciao for now and thanks for the giggles!

*high fivers*

361

I used to have a shorter, overweight friend. She told me that she *never* ate in public, because there was always some sneering, some staring & the inevitable person who would mutter quietly or 'stage sotto voce' about 'see, that's why fat people are fat!!'

as if it were their f*cking business to be haughty about the Life choices of other people

#353 - Wow, wolverines for breakfast? Those are big nuts.

361---see? We're all different. To some that's a pleasant image.

353 - 6 in a row, right?

One of my favorite books:
Wicked Words: A Treasury of Curses,
Insults, Put-Downs, and Other Formerly
Unprintable Terms from Anglo-Saxon
Times to the Present

I most highly recommend it

" it’s kind of like watching a 400-hundred person stuff themselves with 3 pounds of butter slathered on 3 dozen donuts."

Mmmmmmm

Donuts slathered in butter - then deep fried!

want to know where the 'bail out money' went?

take a LONG LOOK at the Wall Street employee bonuses & purchases over the last decade

THERE is your bail out money.

anthro-geek - I'm also suffering greatly due to allergies for the past week. Seems a bit early for the DC and Maryland pollen issues. My head feels this big (holding arms out as wide as possible).

nazis on one side, commies on the other.
Who will speak for the middle? for the little guy?
for the working man and woman? This time share
between these two corrupt parties has killed us.
I like Obama but he's got the baggage of the Democratic
Party around his neck. I'd like the Democratic party
more if it wasn't so damned corrupt. Pelosi and Reed
don't impress me except in a very bad way. They were
no opposition to the Repug assholes. They won't stop
the FED from fleecing us, or reign in the abuses of
their own party, much less the Rethugs.

#351,

Are you just being a penis head?

lolololo

(kiddin')

332---I am a user of cuss words when I am very angry. I consider it a character flaw on my part, but I don't drink, toke, smoke, sleep around, and I'm not chronically selfish or self-centered so cussing is the one character flaw I will probably keep 'til the day I die.

There are many things worth a swear word in this world. Life gets that bad.

However, I feel that when they are used in overabundance they lose all their punctuation and effectiveness. That's why I could never listen to Howard Stern or some of the other really blue comedians.
In my opinion, when they are overused it's kind of like watching a 400-hundred person stuff themselves with 3 pounds of butter slathered on 3 dozen donuts.

It's not good and not healthy for the person or the viewers. But that's just my opinion.

when people complain about the bailouts, & the buyers...

they're really trying to slide the blame off the folks who got rich off fraud & SPP for 10 years...

that first money went: to pay out the fraud perpetrated & ALREADY STOLEN by domestic investors FROM NON-AMERICANS.

because the nation is responsible for the oversight of domestic business transactions... & the nation did NOT prevent their citizenry from STEALING THE WORLD BLIND under cover of pretending 'our government provides oversight for YOUR protection, World!'

that first money was stolen from the Treasury YEARS before the money was provided.

its simply a matter of distance between the ORIGINAL THEFT & the REPAYMENT.

if another nation pulled that crap against US Money & Power, somebody would have already been:

1 assassinated
2 aerially bombed
3 WHINSEC tortured
4 'occupied' until their natural resources were raped away...

that the US took out debts to cover the fraud of their own citizenry is a credit to the Obama Administration's ability to recognize that there ARE SEVERE CONSEQUENCES to nations that let their fraud spiral wildly out of control while pretending the nation provides consumer oversight to non-citizens.
