• Today is Presidents’ Day, and the Stephanie Miller Show is LIVE today!

Bill Maher calls in at 6:30am Pacific to talk about the new season of HBO’s “Real Time with Bill Maher,” and about the DVD release of “Religulous.”

• Author Austin Hill joins us via ISDN at 7:30am Pacific to talk about some of the weird presidential trivia contained in his book, “White House Confidential: The Little Book of Weird Presidential History” in celebration of Presidents’ Day.

President Barack Obama will sign the economic stimulus bill Tuesday in Denver, Colorado. Aides cited a desire to get out of Washington, to go “out west in an area hit hard economically, away from the politics of Washington. Denver is described as “a place that will see the benefits of the bill in hiring workers.”

Freshman Sen. Roland Burris released an affidavit Saturday that contradicts his statements last month to a House committee investigating former Ill. Gov. Rod Blagojevich’s impeachment. Members of the impeachment committee are calling for Burris’ resignation, but Burris is insisting he hadn’t done anything wrong and never misled anyone.

President Obama plans to appoint senior administration officials – rather than a single “car czar” as had been discussed – to oversee a restructuring of the auto industry. Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner and National Economic Council Director Lawrence Summers will oversee the across-the-government panel.

Good bye, all

Went quick today. Guess it must be chore time , Have a great day all!

Well, time to go. It's been great gabbing with you all.

Have a great day, everyone!

Wow, show's over already.

Alrighty folks! Have a great day; see you tomorrow.

#434 Keeping your hubby (and you, of course) in my thoughts.

429

Missed that. Not used to hearing the show live. However, I think the same rationale applies.

shaf - fyi, hubby is still holding on to his job, but may be out by early April. Announcements are supposed to be made Feb. 20.

Kegger at Obama's, Woo Hoo!

#419 -- Not surprising for Houston, being the home of the BUllSHit family.

BTW: Jeff Santos was back on the air this morning at WWZN-AM 1510 (7-9 AM, or is it 6-9 AM)!

Having a special election in Illinois is exactly what the Rethuglians want. They figure that people are fed up with the 'corrupt' Dems and will elect a Rethug to replace Obama. I'd hate to see a special election for that reason. We're still having Franken being stonewalled in MN by these sore losers so if they can make Burris look guilty then they'll get the chance to seat another Rethug in the Senate.

Paul, no. they're repeating standup and tinsel bits in hour 3 and it annoys the piss out of me

kar - Our local cable feed messed up The Simpsons new opening with commercial itty-bits. So I'll check out what I missed. Bye bye.

419...AND Washington DC

It was only the very beginning that got "repeated", and that's been going on for a while, because many stations don't play the whole show.

Good day Capt...be well till we meet again.

c'ya capt

I think they are afraid of losing seats especially in Texas

I did not realize The Simpsons had changed its opening sequence. Here it is:

I too need to go. Take care!

HEY are they still repeating Hour 1 in Hour 3??! I HATE THAT

Yup, when large markets such as Houston and Boston don't have ONE progressive station, something is rotten.

ok, last PJ quote:
"how can you tell an expensive girlfriend from a cat?
If it goes to the bathroom under the sink it's probably a cat.
If it wants jewelery it's probably a girlfriend.
Girlfriends will not usually eat horsemeat [unless the restaurant
has an extremely chic reputation.]

10 minutes before the end of the show and I have to jet!

See ya all here tomorrow!

Ciao

Theodor Geisel started spinning in his grave once it was realized that his collective works were "too advanced" for a President of the United States.

great job Shane-O

Apportionment is Federal based on census - before redistricting can be done by the state - FWIW

The Census has more to do with states re-districting. It’s the states that draw the congressional lines. It only becomes a federal issue when there is a dispute with Gerrymandering. There are going to be several “safe” republican districts that are going to be ruled unconstitutional because they dilute minority representation. The dems will pick up more seats.

I just had a picture of Laura reading Dr. Seus to George, as he sits on the floor with his legs crossed, head in his hands, in rapt attention.

did they bring back RWW or still doing Hour 1 repeat in Hour 3?!?!!?

Paul, Spartan congrats to you

Bunnypants has to pony up some of his ill gotten gain to display "My Pet Goat" (upsidedown)

#396,

Too funny! Thanks!

"Remember the generational battles twenty years ago? Remember all the screaming at the dinner table about haircuts, getting jobs and the American dream? Well, our parents won. They're out living the American dream on some damned golf course in Vero Beach, and we're stuck with the jobs and haircuts."

~ P. J. O'Rourke (1947 - )

#400 - How much money does it take to buy the Little Golden Books?

400- How about donations for the GWB Sewage Treatment Plant?

BTW, they are having difficulty finding donations to the GWB Presidential Library. A small slice of justice!

Andrew Card is a full-class turd.

I like this quote too:
"Wife swapping is never done in the best
circles of society. Wives can rarely, if
ever, be traded for anything useful like
a set of golf clubs." -- PJ again

391---I like the baked goods idea on cats.

Any woman who finds material goods sexy has never been in love with the giver of said material goods.

Embarrassing questions? You mean about the raping, pillaging and stealing from American tax payers? Breaking the constitutional laws?

The questions won't be nearly as embarrassing as the answers (or lack thereof)

Every day, I thank the Deities that we didn't elect Grampy McCain. Of course, Canada is disappointed since the influx of taxpayers would have been a boom to their economy.
