Rep. Gregory Meeks (D-NY) calls in at 6:30am Pacific to talk about President Obama’s stimulus plan and the economy.

Sen. Byron Dorgan (D-ND) calls in at 8:05am Pacific to discuss how President Obama’s stimulus plan is faring on Capitol Hill.

Vincent Bugliosi, author of “The Prosecution of George W. Bush for Murder,” calls in at 8:30am Pacific to discuss whether Obama will hold Bush accountable for war crimes.

President Barack Obama will face the first real test of his push for a stimulus package today, as the House of Representatives prepares to vote on the bill later today. Policy experts believe the bill will pass easily, since Dems have an overwhelming majority in the House. The Senate will vote on its version of the bill next week.

Closing the Guantanamo Bay detention facility is necessary and President Obama’s decision to set a one-year deadline on doing so was probably the only way to get it done, Defense Secretary Robert Gates said yesterday in testimony before the House Armed Services Committee.

Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich was absent again yesterday from his Senate impeachment trial, but state senators who will decide whether to remove him from office heard him loud and clear on FBI recordings of his phone calls. Only 4 snippets of conversations were played, and all pertained to quid-pro-quo on horse-racing legislation.

Anyone still here?

Echo.. (echo.. echo..)

Hey...it's your Mom, Ethan. Get to work!

Hey guys, I wish I didn't have school but I do so I hope everyone had a good day on the liveblog. I had fun calling in :D

Have fun guys

Ethan

Feedback to the person posting the link to "Stephspace", it worked! I logged in there, and I found a little to the "Community" which took me to my page!

Yes, and I bookmarked the damn thing!

Shoot, it won't let me have an animated GIF as an avatar.. Oh well. Now to think up some interesting phony baloney about myself to post there. ;->

Thanks for the help, bloggist(s) who helped!

Bye everyone.

I'll be playing around here tonight, I guess. Too many new thingies.

Well, another good show. I'm staying put until it stops snowing (March, maybe?)

Stay safe and warm. And for you Californians who are gloating, pfffffffft!

I must leave you now. It was fun. Technologically confusing, but fun. Tomorrow is another new day!

have a great afternoon try to stay out of the cold
and employed.

ZOMG!

All the stuff at the SMSpace distracted me - the show is over :(

I have tried to "friend/fan" my blog pals (that means all of you) but I only have a few so far.

I guess it is an organic thing and will grow as I learn more how to use it.

See ya all in the morning!

Ciao!

I leave you now. Must have lunchie!

Buh Bye, Bloggoes!

Jesus, Obama knows damned well that Iran isn't pursuing nuclear weapons. He said as much in the primary season, after the NIE came out.

See you all later. I am off to a make up tai chi session.

I'm betting every light in the Bush household is off on that occasion.

The lights were out long before that.

Papa Bush should jump from an airplane with a parachute packed by a KBR employee, Baby Bush - a bag of KBR pretzels!

Well, I'm just too busy to blog for now; see you tomorrow!

Please excuse me while I retch at GWHB's comments about his idiot son.

One would think that someone who has seen Barbara Bush naked would have a stronger stomach!!

She used to look like this, once upon a time, back before electricity:

who says he ever looked?!

they prolly "do it" in the dark since they are both horribly hideous.

just trying to see if my photo is showing up yet.

Nope, not yet. I think it has something to do with setting up an account on gravatar.com. I saw a link pop up during a screen refresh.

caller:

we had no security on 9/11.
we had anthrax attacks after that.
invading Iraq was a poor seurity choice as it created more enemies, and had nothing to do with 9/11.

douche.

pardon my lackluster typing skills.

Cheney only said that so people wouldn't think he controlled everything that George Jr. did.

I love Rachel Maddow, but I missed the show yesterday. Thank goodness we have Stephanie!

So if we all reply to post 300 we can ALL Sparta!!!

Good point. Share the wealth!

Sharing Sparta? That's socialistic! ;)

Yes. Gore would have been on top of it.

Whether or not the inquiries begin right away, I think it is inevitable that dozens of Congressional investigations will be uncovering Bush crimes during the next decade. And historians will be feeding on the carcass of Dubya's presidency for a century!

Well, I surrender. I cannot find my way to Stephspace. The site knows I'm logged in (obviously I'm posting comments), it continues to display a place for me to log in on the right.

I can see the "widget", and it seems to actually work.

Finally, again, I'll request an EXPLICIT LINK, somewhere obvious. Somehow I feel like I'm not the only one with this problem.

George probably will but it will not be done until after the show and we are all outta here

Here, honey:

I finally bookmarked it so there would be no horsing around. This may be to my profile area, but horse around with the url and it should get you there.

Bush can't take responsibility for ANYTHING!

So true. And descriptive.

We still don't need the Department of Homeland Security. It's just another big useless government agency.

Agreed. It actually created a more unwieldy bureaucracy by trying to centrally manage all these Departments. They could have keep the previous structure, but encouraged cross-communication and sharing of intelligence info.

I agree. DHS screwed up multiple government departments, including my old one (DHHS). We didn't need the new layers and it bogged down the bureaucrappy further. Argggh!

yeah but..

he didn't want dhs

Obama has never said Bush-Co will not be prosecuted. He said they will go where the evidence leads.

I believe when he talks about moving forward, he means he will not make a deliberate effort to go after Bush. But there will be a lot of evidence leading to Bush and his administration.

How about if we let the justice department investigate before we whine that nothing is going to be done. Jesus H. F**king Christ. Give the man a chance to get settled. He can't do EVERYTHING immediately.

How many more times does he have to say that he believes in the Rule of Law? Trust him!

Sarah did it! She snuck in when I wasn't lookin. Hooray for you!

I needed a little excitement today.
