Beyonce, Etta James, the Obama's, spectacular.

ah, poor "Truth", all cranky on this day of great joy to most all others.

Come on, "Truth", All is One.

Oh, TRUTH, no buzz-kill today friend!!!

VERDICT IS IN:

Stocks tumble on fresh worries about banks
Wall Street tumbles on concerns about banking sector; bank shares plunge; Dow falls 332

Looks like the Obama presidency is a bust.

Oh, my bloggo friends!

I'm back from a little party of much joy!
I thought the speech was powerful
and Michelle's gold was fabulous.
So much to see, so much to react to.

Join me in wishing recovery to my Sen Ted who collapsed at the luncheon, but was alert as he was taken out on a gurney. Hey, he saw this day!

Hang in there, Teddy, and bring us Universal Health Care Coverage!

woo-woo! President Barack Hussein Obama!!!

My Dear Friends,

I am pleased to announce that the grown ups are back in charge. I feel like we have received a benediction and an assignment. Ours to live up to the challenges to come. Yes, we can.

What a great day, and we were hear to see it.

Our long national nightmare is finally over.

*throws slipper*

(soft sole so no damage to the TV!)

I'm outie!

See ya in the am

People are booing as Whistleass comes off the helicopter. Throw a shoe. Somebody!

#415 Yes, I can't imagine us (i.e. the majority of us who voted for Obama) turning into the "Silent Majority". We've got too much at stake.

Besides, we're too cranky to be silent!

Guess I better get back to work. Have a great 44th Presidency, y'alls!

No doubt, the real work starts now.

Not just cleaning up but "feet to the fire"

We have to drive the politicians harder than ever or they will fall back into their old ways. Change is hard work but progresss demands more from all of us!

I look forward to the challenge.

"Barack Obama is the first African American U.S. President?"

No way dude!

I think he is from Chicago or something??

lololo

#401 Agreed, Juliet. From the actual campaigners to bloggers, we all played a part. You are also correct in saying that now, the real work begins.

I think Jim or Chris noted that "W" left a flaming bag of dog poo on the front step of the White House for Obama. But, we all need to help him to extinguish the fire and clean-up the mess.

The chirons (?) on HLN were so informative. Did you know that Barack Obama is the first African American U.S. President? I didn't know that.

#406,

Yeah, where is Thor when you need him?

(kiddin)

Gravity on the planet just took a hit as a weight was lifted from everybody's shoulders!

I feel like I can almost fly!

WOO HOO!

Nah, just going to drop its cargo in the Potomac.

Marine One takes off, and the crowd goes wild!

So, is Marine One off to Guantanamo Bay? :)

Lowery totally made up for Rick Warren. Also a putz. I thought they'd have to clear the platform, I thought sure the good Lord was gonna smite that hypocrite...

403

I can, leo. Look who nominated him.

Just came back from watching (not hearing much) of the Inauguration on the TV's in the cafeteria.

Mike, I can't believe Roberts couldn't get 37 fucking words right. Jeebuz. What a putz.

Yup and President Obama knew the right words!

Woo Hoo! A smart president for a change!

Thanks for hanging out today, gang! I couldn't watch the inauguration, listen, "work" and blog at the same time, but I enjoyed your comments and sharing this moment in history with y'all. In our own small way, we contributed in the aggregate to this outcome, the right outcome this time. Time to pick up our load and start trudging, but this time with a leader. Loved the Rev's final benediction :-D

Wow, wow, wow. That was the most beautiful Inauguration ever. Thank the gods it's over. ♥ :D

Leave it to John Roberts to screw up the oath of office.

It was really, really awesome to see some of you (shāf, lookin at you) in pix on Facebook with Chris!

#395

Absolutely!

Hugs all around! I'd die without each and every one of you all!

394> Yes, you could tell around here who the right-wingers were, with their stomping around and talking loudly about anything except politics.

#392 capt, it's great to have this community to share this event with.

Not to be a buzz-kill, but I needed to ask the right-winger who was controlling the remote to put the teevee on a channel that was carrying the inauguration. He left as soon as he finished lunch.

Sadly, he doesn't get that if when President Obama succeeds at his goals, we all (including him) will benefit.

I liked the last prayer most of all.

#390,

I hope the "greedy and powerful" are as nervous as a long tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs!

My blogging pals (and mama and the mooks) are my charming gardeners who make my soul blossom!

You tell them, Reverend! Kind of give it to the "greedy and powerful". I think some of the folks sitting there should feel REALLY uncomfortable right now!

"Let us be grateful to people who make us happy: They are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom."

~ Marcel Proust (1871 - 1922)

Wow...that was really something else! I thought I was going to break down crying in front of my coworkers.

I popped back in to say:

WAHOOOOO! THAT'S SOMETHIN'!

Did the whole planet sigh with relief?

I swear I felt it.

Very nicely done.

I bet FoxSpews is parsing the text of his speech now and talking about how Obama is pushing some secret
agenda.

Ron Reagan just said my favorite phrase: "Former President George W. Bush". :D

It is just setting in.

Great speech!

I was awestruck in many parts -

Feel like crying. Really.

That was a powerful speech. It took Kennedy's call to service a step further and will be seen as a rallying cry for a nation.

Wow... that statement to extremist states was... powerful

Did anyone else hear that collective sigh of relief roll across the land?

I'm back, demdane.

Sitting at my desk at work; listening to the speech. The MSN video site just went down unfortunately.

This is amazing!

Am I wrong, or is he speaking completely without notes? I suppose there might be teleprompters off camera. But Obama being Obama, he may have this memorized. Or may be speaking extemporaneously!
