Cowtown Communications LLC is in negotiations to purchase WVKO-FM 103.1. According to the attorney negotiating the deal for Gary Richards (whose last day as GM for WVKO-AM 1580 will be Monday), the asking price is $1.5 million.

Bernard Ohio LLC, which leased the AM to Cowtown until the sale to St. Gabriel Radio was finalized, is currently operating the FM under a Spanish-language format after parting company with the former lessee over the summer.

St. Gabriel will be taking over the AM on Tuesday and airing its Catholic radio format. Frangela has/have been asked to give Stephanie Miller fans words of farewell on Monday during the final broadcast of the Stephanie Miller Show on WVKO-AM.

With the help of Big Eddie and his fellow investors, we hope his absence will be brief. Even though the deal fell through for a progressive talk station in Salem, Oregon, we hope they can make an investment that will help Gary Richards seal the deal.

Gary’s attorney will be getting in touch with Vern Thompson, Big Eddie’s producer, while Vern has Gary’s phone number. The hope is all the parties will get in touch in an effort to bring Big Eddie, Stephanie Miller and Columbus’ other favorite progressive talkers back on the air permanently.
